My mom just got out of surgery and is in recovery right now. She had some crazy thing done to her stomach because every time she ate acid, far too much acid was produced and it was messing up her esophagus and other stuff. (Hey, I try to pay attention, but I really don't know jack about internal medicine- ask me about spine and knee injuries and I'm your girl...) She'll get a room assignment in about an hour, then I can send her flowers.
The Wegman show wasn't terrible, but it wasn't WOW either. The turn-out at the opening was good and still going strong right up until closing time. There was quite a bit of work, so the placement of pieces was jumbled-- compositionally not bad, but the continuity and juxtaposition of the pieces with one another was just plain bad sometimes. His most interesting work, in my opinion, are his paintings in which he takes various postcards (say the Sky Needle, the Statue of Liberty, etc.) and arranges them in a composition where he fills in the remaining canvas with loose extensions of the picture. Does that make any sense? Well here, look at this:

Clever. Lasting artworks? Eh, I dunno...
