I'm starting a vegetable garden in my back yard this year. I want to eat stuff that I grow and it seems like it will save money in the long run as well.
I'm ordering my seeds from Gurneys, as they seem to have the best quality and price. They also have customer reviews for each product and how it grows, so that's very beneficial when picking them out.
I will be growing:
Tomatoes, carrots, green beans, corn, potatoes, lima beans, peas, broccoli, garlic, leeks, romaine lettuce, onions, and strawberries.
In pots, I'll be growing herbs:
Chives, rosemary, and basil.
I'm going to get some kind of greenhouse kit, and I may use peat pots so that they are easier to plant in the garden once they've sprouted.
We'll be making raised beds similar to this one

if we can get Home Depot to cut the notches and holes for us. We don't have the tools here to do it. If Home Depot can't do it, I'm not quite sure how to do it.
We'll also be making our own compost. I would love to get a composter of some sort, but they are very expensive so we'll most likely just use big black garbage cans.
If anyone has gardening tips etc, let me know.
