Chicago
Well, I'm up here and mostly moved in. My apartment's probably a pretty good starting-out place: not big at all and not really that nice, but it's cozy and it feels like home already. My building manager's been pretty good about fixing the main problems I noticed initially, so hopefully that continues. The surrounding area is pretty nice too, which is good for walking the puppy. Stimpy seems to be settling in pretty well too. I think he's a little bored because there's no one else around, but he seems to be getting used to it. There's a good trail area a few blocks down the street, so we've been running on that a few times. Yay running with puppies :)
It is a little weird living by myself, but I'm guessing once I start working and seeing people more, I won't really have time to think about it. Plus Richard's been really awesome about calling me and keeping me company. It's not the same as having him here, but it's still really nice. I'm glad I have Stimpy to keep me company too, even if he can't talk back (as much as he tries).
Everything else is pretty close by. I can walk to the grocery store in about 10 minutes, and there are a LOT of places to eat really close (except I can't afford to eat out all the time). *sigh* But I think I like it here :)
The trip to California starts Sunday! It'll be so good to see Richard again :) Then I'll get back, start the actual CPA review class, and get to work. Pretty crazy times.
