So this has come up a couple times on my Friends page. Since I'm a big music dork, this appealed to me, so here goes.
Your Life: The Soundtrack
So here's how it works:
Open your choice of music player [iTunes, Limewire, Kazaa, etc.] and put it on shuffle. Press play. For every question type the song that's on. And when you go to a new question press the next button. No cheating. Ready? GO!
(Alright, I use RealPlayer so I had to cheat on the first one)
Opening credits: Matthew Good Band - Apparitions
I only cheated slightly. This song was the first one I downloaded ever on this computer, so it's fitting just for that. Plus it's freakin' Matthew Good.
Waking up on an average day: Sublime - Doin' Time
Bizarrely appropriate. I can only hope that soon every morning I'll be waking up thinking, "summer time and the livin's easy."
First date: Weezer - The Sweater Song
Oh my...
Falling in love: Bush - Mouth
Okay, American Werewolf in Paris wasn't that great a movie, but this is a damn fine Bush song. Way too ironic (and occasionally accruate) for me to just cheat and jump to a different song.
Fight scene: Smashing Pumpkins - Never Let Me Down Again
I can only imagine what this fight scene must look like.
Breaking up: Ash - Cherry Bomb
I actually forgot I had Ash on my computer. Strange choice, but that's the fun of this, isn't it?
Getting back together: Fuel - Daniel
So I'm falling in love to a Bush song basically about emotional abuse, breaking up to quite possibly the happiest Ash song ever, and getting back together to an absolute tearjerker of an Elton John cover. You know, come to think of it, this is exactly like my love life.
Secret love: Dave Matthews - Stay or Leave
RealPlayer is officially 1 for 4 for the relationship section.
Life's okay: Say Anything - Alive With the Glory of Love
YES!!!
Mental breakdown: Foo Fighters - All My Life
Wouldn't be my first choice, but more appropriate than most of the relationship cycle.
Driving: Coldplay - Speed of Sound
"You know how I know you're gay? You listen to Coldplay." I liked this song a lot more before it got overplayed.
Learning a lesson: Bombs Over Baghdad - Outkast
My political side finds this absolutely hilarious.
Deep thought: Interpol - PDA
Not a bad brooding song, I suppose.
Flashback: Creeper Lagoon - Centipede Eyes
Must be one happy, trippy flashback. Or at least a really catchy one. I miss this band.
Partying: Robert Johnson - Whiskey Blues
I must be one morose protagonist. RealPlayer thinks my life is a John Cusack movie. I hope it's as good as Better Off Dead.
Happy dance: Frank Zappa - Wind Up Workin' in a Gas Station
Most upbeat song ever about amounting to nothing.
Regretting: Scott Weiland - Barbarella
Semi washed-up, drug-addled rock star reminisces over a drum machine and an acoustic guitar. This is what happens when the Marine Bio career doesn't work out.
Long night alone: Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
You can't see it right now, but I'm actually hysterical with laughter. Go ahead, just let the connotations sink in...
Death scene: Smashing Pumpkins - Perfect
I must die pretty damn fulfilled. Actually, if you've seen the video for this song, it kind of works for a death scene.
Well, that was a lot of fun. This is one survey I may come back and revisit. If you're reading this, you should try it, because I want to read what happens!
