I wanna always feel like part of this was mine...

The show last night went rather well, despite the fact that out of everyone I bothered about showing up, only Angie popped her head in.  Angie, I love you.  Everyone else, you're dead to me, but probably only for about an hour or so.

My solo set was cut in half due to me showing up late and some issues with the new equipment (by the way, the Musician's Guild finally got it's sexy new equipment, some of which was used last night).  I played three originals and covered "Morning Glory" and "Red Cat slash Yellow Cat" (with assistance from RightSideDown's drummer).  My audience was small, but they actually got into it, which is actually preferable to having a large audience that just doesn't give a rat's ass.  Then RightSideDown ripped it up, and it was time for FlareGunSuicide.

Those of you who missed the Flaregun set, you only missed our best goddamn show so far!  Dan, off work and finally able to start drumming for us regularly, sprayed the room with blast beats.  I managed to do something relatively awful to my back while thrashing around, so I was into it.  We have a new hit in the form of "Christopher Reeves Backflip," which may be one of the most outright offensive songs Jordan has ever written, and I'm definitely going to hell for thinking it's absolutely hilarious.  As a kind of encore, we played the ballad version of "Eskimo Boots" and gave "Christopher Reeves" the ska treatment.

So after that, I think we're ready to rock Living Proof.  By the way, the full lineup is out, tickets should be on sale today, and we have the whole schedule hashed out.  The music festival rules.  I couldn't tell you about the arts and film portions, because I'm one of the glory boys of Living Proof and haven't touched the other sections.

So how about other stuff?  I sent in an application to NOAA this week (through the actual post office, so maybe this time it won't get sent back to me) so we'll see what happens.  I may have something lined up for this summer, but I don't want to say anything definite because we all know how that usually turns out.  The Jazzmaster has some issues with the action of the high E string, and it doesn't seem to be something I can fix myself, but I guess it's still handy to own a full set of allen wrenches.  I need to figure out when I'm supposed to register for next semester's classes.  I still need to take the GRE's goddammit.

That is all.
