I can’t GET!! OVER. Someone has to BEAT the LINE.
Congratulations to Hey! Say! JUMP for the release of their 8th single- Magic Power! :)
Hey! Say! JUMP is nearly 4 years old now, with their anniversary on the 24th of September. I’m so happy and proud of them that they got to release their 8th single now. :)

It has only been less than three months since they last released their 7th single- OVER. And up until now, I could say that I haven’t recovered from OVER, yet, they have this new single coming out. Well, I can understand that since Magic Power is the OST for the Japanese version of Smurfs, shown in Japanese theaters this September as well, where Ryosuke and Chii voice acted for Clumsy Smurf and Brainy Smurf, respectively. So yeah, JUMP has to do the OST. At first I thought that it was going to be NYC to do the OST since Smurfs is a kiddie film and the image of NYC in my mind still has that some sort of cuteness, unlike JUMP’s which is heading to the “kakkoi side”. But when I heard the song, well, I was satisfied and happy that JUMP did the song. :)
The PV struck me as something new (aside from the fact that it was only the 9 of them. TT.TT Ryuuu. TT.TT). Watching the PV, I was glad to see the JUMP band- Yuto on drums, Keito and Hikaru on guitars and Kei on the keyboards- play, while the remaining members danced and sang along. It was also refreshing to see that it was not Ryosuke who was in the middle but Chinen. Though I’m actually a Yamada fan, I should say that he’s getting too much exposure in the past PVs and I think it’s just right to let the others shine too. Well, it’s not like Chinen isn’t shining in the past PVs, it’s just that I think, each one of them was given the chance to be seen. OVER did some justice on the others but still, the whole PV centered on Ryosuke being heartbroken, blah, blah, blah. So with Magic Power’s PV, I’m glad to see that they got the chance to be seen, especially Keito where he looked like he was having so much fun playing the guitar. And Yuto, too! He looked so cool while playing the drums. :))) The only thing that didn’t strike me that much in the PV was their costumes. There was something in those costumes, I can’t pinpoint what, that disturbed me. It was nice to see them looking funky and oldies with those clothes but there’s just something… just something. I don’t really know what. >.< The color choices were good, though. (I love the red on Ryosuke :D).
Moving on with the PV, I’ll go one by one with the songs in Magic Power’s track list. (I’m not a music specialist so I’m just going to give my naïve opinions on the songs. LOOOOL.)
1. Magic Power
This song’s pretty decent. It suits the image of the Smurfs that I have in mind. When I hear this song, it gives me a happy feeling and somehow reminds me of my childhood. And oh! I love that part when they preformed this on Music Station where the fans shouted, “JUMP! JUMP! Hey! Say! JUMP!”. The song makes me want to JUMP with them as well. :)))) *jumps*
2. Beat Line
Awesome song! I love this song. I’ll classify this song as a cool one. I already had an LSS after seeing Yabu, Yuto and Daiki’s live stage of this one in Yan Yan JUMP. I really love how the song started, with the drums playing in the background. I also like that fast beat of the song, which makes my heart beat faster as well as I listen to it. And the chorus part is just so LSS-ing that everytime I hear this song, it just makes me want to sing along. “Down down down down…” Somehow, I want a PV of this song but it’s all too late now. :( So now, all I want is to finally see all of the JUMP members performing this song. It must be something to watch.
3. GET!!
And I love this song, too! Since I heard all the tracks of the single, this song really stuck on me. I wasn’t expecting this song to be part of the track list. (I was pretty clueless on Magic Power’s tracklist prior to the release. I was too lazy to search it. XD What I only know is that of course, Magic Power and Beat Line to be part of the track list.) Ryosuke singing (or maybe shouting) “Oh yeah~!” at the start of the song is what probably caught my attention the most. (Biased. HAHAHA). And like Beat Line, I also like the fast beat of this song. And oh! It was nice to hear Keito singing solo at the 2nd verse of the song. I’m really happy for this guy. :) Though Keito is not my bias or some sort, I’m happy for him and his fans that he’s getting the attention that he needs. I don’t know if it’s just me (that I’m always just looking out/at Ryosuke) but for the previous singles/PVs, etc, I felt like Keito isn’t getting the attention that supposed to be his. So now, I’m really happy for this guy. :)
The only thing that I was looking for this song is Ryuu’s voice. GET!! is a 7 song so it’s really a disappointment that Ryuu is not with JUMP in this song/single. Oh well, I’ll just have to keep my fingers crossed that he’ll be back with JUMP and that someday, he can sing this song with the rest of the 7 members and to sing/dance/perform with the other members as well.
And yeah! I’m so looking forward for their performance of GET!! Last thing, this song sounds SOOOO familiar to me. I can’t remember where/when/how. And I’m not that sure if this is really the song that I heard before, but there’s just something telling me that this song is familiar.
4. スクールデイズ
Kindly tell me that English title of this BEST song? LOL. XD I’m only familiar with hiragana since I’m too lazy to study katakana. LOOOOL again. XD
With this one, I’m pretty sure I’ve heard this before. As soon as I heard this song, I scanned my JUMP2010 looking for this song and bam! BEST performed it. :) (I actually scanned the whole thing 5 times before I figured out where this song is. HAHAHA.) I can’t really say much on this one except the thing that I liked it. :) When I hear this song, it makes me want to dance, though I have two left feet! HAHAHA
5. 眠リノ森
This one, too? *puppy eyes* I only finished this song once so I’m yet to discover if I like one or not. The first part sounded a little Indian to me at first. LOOOOL.
6. Be Alive
The same goes with this song. I’ve only heard this song once. The first part kinda disturbed me. It felt like I was going to some magical land. LOOOOL.
I’m hoping that JUMP will be able to get good sales with this single. :) They topped the Oricon chart on the first day of Magic Power's release. I knew they were going to make it! :))) Last thing on Magic Power, the LE covers look so good! :D

Since you’ve received another Guinness and were able to let JUMP release two singles in three months, would you mind letting NEWS out now? You could have another Guinness record if you let NEWS do some activity now, honestly. :)
