I'm back home in Niceville again after what could quite possibly be called one of the best weekends of my entire life. Thursday afternoon I headed out along with my cousin Jeni and her boyfriend Steve to Tallahassee to attempt to get a decent amount of sleep the night before my big OAT exam. It was a nice thought, but even with the sleeping pill I kept waking up every couple hours thinking of some random physics formula or biology fact or something else along those lines. Oddly enough, though I wasn't tired when I got up the next morning, which was definitely a good thing. I wasn't nervous before or during the exam at all. To be completely honest, it kind of just felt like I was taking another practice exam on a computer that wasn't mine. When I finished the exam and was waiting for my scores to come up I was crazy nervous. I was totally shaking and when my scores finally appeared showing a 380 out of 400, I was in complete and utter disbelief at how well I'd done. I'm still in shock now. It also feels really weird to not have to study for it anymore; I've kind of gotten used to it haha.
After the exam, I went back to pick up Jeni and Steve at my apartment, grabbed some lunch at Jimmy John's because I definitely missed it seeing as Niceville/Destin/FWB doesn't have one, then headed down 19 to Tampa to see the most amazing guy in the entire world. I finished my test earlier than I expected to so we actually ended up getting there around 6, which was definitely ok with me. It was so awesome getting to see Matt again after over a month. You have no idea how happy I was. :-) Friday night we pretty much just hung out, ate home made enchiladas, and watched the greatest movie ever: *Keeping the Faith*. I've definitely seen that movie over 20 times by now haha.
Saturday morning, we headed out to Adventure Island Waterpark. Although the weather said it was supposed to rain at some point during the day, we somehow managed to miss that. We went on all the big rides once, went around the lazy river a few times, ate lunch, played in the fun house and then headed home so we could get some rest. That evening we went over to Clearwater Beach for dinner. Parking was somewhat of an ordeal and our waiter was kind of lame, but other than that dinner was pretty much awesome. There was definitely a wedding reception at the restaurant we ate at and the bride definitely had the dress I was when I get married. I was pretty excited about that, not gonna lie. After dinner, we split up and went for a walk on the beach. Everything was great until Matt stepped on an abandoned chair and cut his foot open. That was kind of upsetting, because the weekend had pretty much been perfect up until then, but I guess you can't really expect nothing to go wrong at all. We hobbled back to the car and then came back to Matt's house to watch another movie; not sure what though.
By Sunday we were all pretty much exhausted owing to the lack of sleep we had received the two previous nights so we pretty much just hung around the house. We played volleyball in the pool...the 3 boys (Steve, Matt, and Nick--Matt's brother) took turns losing aka being on Jeni and I's team. We're definitely not volleyball experts lol. After volleyball, we watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone since Steve is a lame-o and hasn't seen any of the Harry Potter movies or read the books. Matt's mom made us some delicious chicken for dinner and then we went to play putt-putt. We played on teams: Matt and I against Jeni and Steve. As far as individual scores go, Matt did the best, but my putting skills are up tehre with my volleyball skills so Jeni and Steve ended up beating us by 11 points. It was extremely humid and gross outside so we came home and hopped in the pool again to cool off and become unsweaty, then watched *Robin Hood: Men In Tights* and part of *Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets* before everyone started passing out.
Today was mostly just relaxing. We had a nice home-cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs, and biscuits, then lounged around until I could convince myself to leave. We left around 2:15 or so, but returned about 5 minutes later when Matt called to say Steve left his toiletry bag there. At least I got an extra kiss. ;-) The drive home wasn't too bad, but it was definitely hard coming back home again. It was a little easier knowing that I get to see Matt again in 11 days when he comes back up here to visit. The entire weekend was amazing. I'm really glad Steve and Matt got along so well and even more excited that I don't have to think about organic chem anymore until I do the lab in the spring. I'm hoping I'll be working so much I won't have too much time to miss Matt anyway, which is looking very promising since currently I'm working 29 hours in the next 4 days and most likely it will be at least 6 days in a row once next week's schedule comes out. I finally get to have a life again, at least for the next month and a half. I think this is probably the only time I'm actually somewhat excited about going back to school. Being away from Matt sucks. Ok well off to attempt to regain some of my lost sleep from this weekend. Hope everyone is having a nice summer!
