Weekend Entertainment

I know I haven't updated in like 5 bazillion years (slight exaggeration), but the past few weekends have been absolutely spectacular!  We'll start with two weekends ago...

Ok so 2 weekends ago, I went to Gainesville with Phi Sigma Pi for GET SLAM'D, which is a regional event that the UF Chapter of PSP does every year, although this was my first year going.  We left Friday afternoon and got there around dinner time, got checked in, met some cool people, and then headed to Matt's apt, which was the guy we were staying with.  After getting settled in we headed to Steak 'N Shake for dinner.  I pretty much just had a milkshake and coffee since I'd had pizza when we checked in, but it was definitely still a good time.  Friday night we went to the most poorly designed Karaoke Bar ever.  I don't even know if it can be considered a bar at all.  It was more like a hallway with three rooms branching off of it.  Needless to say I kept going outside just so I could actually breathe/move.  But it was still fun.  I heart karaoke. :-)  Saturday afternoon we headed to Oleno State Park for some Ice Breaker Games and other fun stuff, such as food, learning foreign languages, Officer Tables, and Service Olympics.  We ended up skipping the Service Olympics owing to the fact that one of our group members seemed to think she wasn't wearing a costume to the party that night, and we quickly informed her that that was completely unacceptable.  Since the theme for the party that night was *Around the World*, we ended up going with making her into a tacky tourist since three of our people were already going as luggage.  It ended up being a good thing we left early, because we barely had time to get back and shower before heading over to dinner...Fazoli's...Mmmm.  After dinner we headed back to Matt's place and hung out/played drinking games.  Some girls from Temple as well as one of the UF initiates came to hang out with us too, so that was a lot of fun.  I was definitely already extremely tipsy when we headed over to the party a couple hours later.  The party was pretty much amazing, and by amazing I mean there were definitely a lot of pictures on my camera that I do not recall taking.  However, I am glad that I at least have some form of documentation lol.  I went to Whataburger drunk for the first time, so I can go ahead and check that off the list.  I definitely met lots of awesome people, and hopefully I'll see them again at another event.  Sunday we just drove home, not too terribly exciting, but it definitely was an amazing weekend.

Last weekend I went home to see my brother, because he was home for Spring Break, and the last time I saw him was definitely Christmas Break.  He brought home three of his school friends with him, so I got to meet them as well.  All in all, seems like a pretty good group.  Friday night my brother wanted to have one last party with his friends.  We had beer-soaked Bratwurst completely with a wide variety of seasonings that Harry just randomly decided to throw into the mix, but it was actually really good.  Mostly we just hung out, ate, drank, and had a jubilant time.  The boys played some beer pong, which I definitely did not join in,because 1) beer is gross and 2) I would definitely suck at it.  Saturday, my sister, my mom, and I went shopping in Destin, where I definitely found some extremely cute spring/summer stuff.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to wear much of it since it randomly decided to be cold again, but that's ok.  Sunday I left earlier than I usually would, since we were having our PSP Family Olympics.  I'm really glad I decided to com back though, because it was a lot fo fun.  My family (Hendricks) lost, which happens frequently since we are small both in number and physical size, but what really matters is that we enjoyed being there.

Finally up to this weekend...I was originally planning to go home for Easter, but since I had just gone home the weekend before and Megan and Ciara were having a costume party Friday night, I ended up staying in Tally.  The costume party was totally awesome!  I definitely had planned to go as a hula girl when the weather was still warm, and since I didn't really have any other options, I still went as a hula girl haha.  Matt went as a caveman, and he was definitely the most adorable cave man I've ever seen. :-)  The party was totally awesome.  I was really excited about seeing all my Chiefs friends, since most of the time in the Spring the only time I see them is at these parties and every other party has been on a weekend I was out of town.  Not that that was very difficult since I've been gone a lot this semester, but still.  The cops ended up showing up around 1 or so.  Definitely the first party I've been at where the cops came, so I can check that off the list too.  But it was still fun.  Yesterday I slept until around 2:15, which was awesome other than the fact that I didn't get to go to the gym.  The rest of the afternoon I pretty much spent doing homework.  Saturday night, I went to dinner with Matt and his parents/brother, which I was somewhat nervous about before, but it ended up being a lot of fun.  After dinner, Matt and I came back to my apartment and watched The Lake House on HBO, and by watched I mean I watched and he fell asleep haha.  After the movie, Angela's friend Andrew came over to play drinking games, although that didn't last too long because, 1) the Barcardi Silver Raz that Angela and I were drinking was freakishly carbonated and we were dying and 2) nobody wanted to drink that much, with the exception of maybe Andrew haha.

All in all, I'd say that I've had a pretty good last couple weeks, especially because I've only had one test a week as opposed to 2 or 3 like I usually have.  Unfortunately the last few weeks will be back to normal, with Bio and Orgo tests this week Bio Lab Practical Final, and Italian next week, and then 5 cumulative finals starting Monday and ending Friday.  I am so ready for this semester to be over.  Oh and in case anybody cares, I have the world's greatest boyfriend.  And I get to eat candy again!  Hooray for fun weekends! :-D
