Adventures in Bunnell

This weekend my sister, her friend Lindsay, and I all headed down to Bunnell, FL for the Regional Wrestling Tournament.  The drive down was pretty uneventful.  We got to the tournament on Friday around 7 or so and saw the last hour before heading out to dinner with some of the boys at a little restaurant on the beach.  Holy crap though...that school (Flagler Palm Coast HS) is frickin huge!  It looked like a college campus!  It was bigger than FSU in Panama City!  I would so get lost if I went there.  After we dropped the boys off and headed back to check in to our motel 40 miles away the adventures began.  First of all, there was road construction on I-95 so it took us an hour and a half to go what should have taken 30 minutes, but it was actually quite entertaining.  One of the wrestler's girlfriends, Libby, came back with us and we had a our windows rolled down with the music cranked up and we ended up stuck next to this convoy of military Hummers with some quite attractive male people.  Needless to say that was the highlight of the evening. ;-)  I'm sure they found the whole thing as entertaining as we did haha.  They did tell us they liked the music since they didn't have a radio.  When we finally got to our hotel around 12:30 or so, we were pretty much ready to call it a night, but then we had some creepy Mexicans follow us to our room and started calling us and knocking on our door trying to get us to let them in.  We tried calling the front desk, but the lady at the desk was being of no help at all so we finally just called the cops.  The cops showed up and tried to get the Mexicans to open their door but they didn't so basically we ended up leaving and going to a better hotel across the street.  I can honestly say that was one of the scariest nights of my life.  Not interested in having a repeat of that ever again.

Saturday was the last of the wrestling tournament.  It was totally intense!  There were 30 teams at the tournament and a lot of them are really freakin good.  Our boys put up a really good fight, and two of them ended up qualifying for state.  Way to go Plumb and Jones!   The finals weren't until 6, so we had a 3 hour break where we pretty much went back to the motel with the wrestlers and hung out.  I got really excited for a little bit because Coach Meyers was talking about leaving last night instead of this morning and he needed someone to go with him so I was going to go, but that didn't end up happening.  It was still fun though. :-)  The wrestlers had an extra room at their motel since a lot of people had left already, so we ended up checking out of our hotel early and staying there.  The finals weren't all that exciting once Plumb and Jones went, but they both got 3rd place, which is totally awesome!  Sandy, Lindsay, and I went back and hung out at the motel for a little while before dinner sine we were bored at the tournament.  All in all a fabulous day.  No Mexicans, no traffic...it was beautiful.

The drive home today was not bad at all.  We left around 7, which is entirely too early since I only got like 12 hours of sleep this weekend, but at least I'm back in Tally now.  We broke out some of my burned CDs from like 9th and 10th grade.  That was quite entertaining haha.  Hooray for old school pop!  On that note, I'm going to go take a nap.  Hope everyone else had an awesome weekend as well!
