Before everyone ignores this, because I couldn't possibly be making an update because I NEVER do... I really am!
I bought a car yesterday. A decent one, with financing and such. It's a blue Honda CRV. 2003 and Manual Transmission. She's VERY pretty. They are putting a roof rack on, and remote starter with keyless entry. I was a little worried today when I got a call that the keyless entry couldn't be added to the LX model which is what I bought. He was quoting $400 to put the starter and remote entry over and above the original price of the car. I told him I'd call him back and started looking into how much it would *actually* cost, and what my recourse was if he was breaking the deal, since it was writen that he'd be including it. Just as I was getting ready to call another Honda dealer posing as someone wanting to add it to my existing car, he calls me back, telling me it would be added. Obviously I just waited long enough that he figured I was going to bail, and he wouldn't get the sale at all... (which I might have done)
So I got my way. I still think he's making off with a good deal, but I don't feel like I was seriously cheated, and I'm happy with what I got.
There is now the question of a good name... I always have problems naming things. I figure it out to have Blue in the name... Since W's and my offspring when they happen will be bluelets, and we'll be transporting them in it, the blueletmobile comes to mind, but is too long. Then there is my favorite french word along with mouffette, which is bleuet... Then we could have Blue's bleuet. it does look sort of like a blueberry... Then I could start in with the french terms of endearment. Like petit bleuet... instead of my little cauliflower... course, it's not actually small, and I'm not sure if "grand" really implies what I mean... So how about those of you who have much better naming skills than I help me out?
Here's the challenge: Help me come up with a name for my new vehicle. If I use the one you come up with, I'll take you out for a spin, assuming you are somewhere near me and the "bleuet" at some point. I'm not driving to California any time soon, that I know of though, so I will restrict it to somewhere I already am. (and no this doesn't mean on a trip to IKEA to use the cargo capacity...)
We pick it up Friday, and we'll take pictures! I'm very excited.
So what else is new, you ask?
The continuous joys of owning our own home... Including the dishwasher flooding the kitchen, the washing maching flooding the basement on 2 occassions for different reasons, the AC in the livingroom window flooding the livingroom... Setting up for parties, taking down from parties, buying and assembling IKEA furniture for the bedroom, and the new King sized bed! Putting together the table saw, and hopefully getting some work done finally, I think I'm pretty dang busy. Also going to Toronto for 9ICB was a blast, and really drove home to me the need for a newer car!
Now I can go camping and cottaging in reasonable comfort without worry my transmission is going to be sitting by the side of the road, with me beside it, frustrated and crying... (most of you will recall when the engine just about did this exact thing to me last year, although it wasn't actually unattached from the car)
Pieces are starting to fall into place, I'm happy with the way our bedroom is turning out, and my office is getting there. The livingroom still needs a projector, but that will have to wait awhile, but once that's in, we can reorg the livingroom to have it the way we want it. I have work to do, and am motivated to go and do it!
hope to talk with you all some day soon!
