Into the darkness...

I went caving yesterday for the first time ever. Amazing. Aside from slipping in the chimney. That was scary. But it was okay. The crew I was with is quite possibly the best group of people to be with on an adventure like that. We had an entire summer of adventures together...

I'm going into the darkness with nothing but my headlamp. The people around me, however, love me and support me and can help me find where to put my foot. Even if it does feel solid, they know what is and help me to trust that foothold. It's hard to learn that and is a new lesson every time I come to the chimney or crawl hole. There are the small spaces that I don't think I can fit through, but I fit through them one time, so I can get there again. I just need the people...the right vision...to tell me where I'm going. It's a scary prospect.

And on another note, here is the best quote I've heard in a long time (from one of my first graders)

"What else did the wisemen bring to baby Jesus?"

"Frankenstein!"

And on one more note...

"If the chips are down, have the cows been eating pillows?"
