On Friday I went back to Walter Johnson after being away from there for almost a year. What a good decision I made. It was a great way to spend my afternoon.
So after I came home from classes for a little bit, I ate lunch at MC with my buddies. Then I proceeded home and practiced on guitar a little bit. Following that I walked up to Walter Johnson my old high school.
As soon as I arrived inside of the school I bumped into Ms. Parker. I talked to her about how college was going and that I found what I was interested in. I told her and she summed it up perfectly well when she said I was a humanities person. Yep someone who is interested in music, writing, history, and politics is definitely a humanities person and that both those interests all “hit sour notes at times.” In addition, she also remembered where I sat last year in AP Euro and the year before that in Honors Modern World.
Following the chat with Ms. Parker, I proceeded to stop by and visit Ms. Donohoe. I explained to her where I go to college, and what my interests are now, and that I’m going to be doing an internship with the government over the summer. Her response was that that was something that I would love. Personally I’m looking forward to it. In addition, we had a chat about politics, specifically the election. She also explained how MC is a great school for a lot of people, because some people go to college and crash and burn, while others can go 2 MC and get themselves ready for college. Furthermore, she said it was a pleasure to have me in class last year and that I always contributed something good when we shared current events. Hey it was fun keeping up to date on issues.
Following my chat with Ms. Donohoe I proceeded to visit the cast of Gypsy. It had been a long time since I had been in the choral room. As I walked towards the choral room, flashbacks came and went from my brain, most of them were good.
So I finally arrived in the choral room and as soon as I walked in, I heard cast members whisper “it’s Berdak.” It felt great, I felt like royalty. Then unexpectedly Aaron P. rushes up to me and hugs me and I almost fall to my feet. Then Ms. Mac was like, “aren’t you going to let me have a turn?” And she too gave me a hug. Sara and some others gave me a hug too. It was great.
Following my initial entrance, I stayed at the rehearsal for almost 2 hours. I caught up with everyone and saw how he or she was doing. Talked guitar and music with Coburn, Ben and Billy. Told Bethany about the Gin Blossoms in concert, caught up with Sierra, and saw Rachelle. Many people’s response’s when I asked them how they were doing was “A lot of stress” but that’s typical since being in a show is a lot of work.
After I had caught up with everyone and saw a little of the show’s numbers, I left. As I walked out it felt different, a lot had changed. That’s’ because you grow up a lot during the summer between college and high school. I had a great time visiting WJ and it was fun to walk in there as an alumnus and not a student.
