Feeling sort of lost

I can't really describe what I'm feeling other than to say that right now I wish I could just live in another world, be a swordmaster deeply imbued with wizardry, and wander the world exploring and being magical. Life's just so routine...and even exciting things just seem predictable or repeatable. I want something more from life than endless

we need to find some wormholes. transport ourselves into a crazy new world where energy takes on a different fundamental meaning. maybe we can become magicians and gain the knowledge of how every atom and electron moves and govern that movement ourselves to do....hmmm...to do things :)

no! not wormholes! i randomly decided to take a bioengineering class (you crazy bioEs!!!) about space and of course our group project has to be about warp speed travel a la Star Trek. and so this guy, he was actually a math major, is trying to explain the wormhole thing to me by telling me that space is this ribbon and we just fold the ribbon so it looks like a C instead of __ and then we can just cut across the shortened space and that's warp speed travel! i guess that would be a D, but backwards. anyway, it all made perfect sense EXCEPT that space doesn't look like __ to me and it certainly doesn't seem to bend into C and so i can't quite imagine a backwards D existing!

so my part of the project was: how will the public feel about their tax dollars going to create a D from a __? ;)

which is not to say don't keep dreaming... :)
