I'd define it as...a spiritually beneficial relationship, of any depth, between two people.
There are, of course, levels of intimacy in friendships, and I believe that people value friendships in different ways. For example, I don't believe in the term "best friend." All of my friends enrich my life in some manner or another, and I can't put a quality value on that. There are definitely those to whom I feel closer and with whom I have a deeper level of trust, but I think it's futile to single out any one person as "the best."
