101 tasks in 1001 days

Back in January I saw arachne posting a list of 101 things she pledged to do within the next 1001 days. Like an alternative to New Year's Resolutions, and a more fun one in several ways, I think. You have longer than a year to think about the big things and the ones that involve lots of planning, but also it's not a case of having to keep something up for ( Read more... )

That's an awesome list -- I'd count it a lifetime's achievement if I managed to even start just one of the creative projects you've committed to finishing! Can't even begin to do more than say 'wow' to most of it, and wish you luck/energy/etc for achieving your goals.

At the more practical end of the tasks, though:

69. Get rid of all clothes I feel ugly in

This is something I need to do as well, and not just "clothes I feel ugly in" but also "clothes that never quite go with anything" and "clothes that just aren't really me any more" and "clothes that actually don't fit" and so on. I was thinking of having a "bring and buy" (or just "bring and take"!) session where people can bring clothes they don't want, get second opinions, swap the clothes they don't want for clothes they do want, etc. Like the sale-and-giveaway thing you had before going travelling, kind of thing, but just for clothes.

So... would you be interested in joining forces to do something like this? Maybe in the spring/summer when it's a bit warmer for hopping about half-in-and-half-out of a dress? :)

(NB I won't be at all offended if this is something you want to do For Yourself By Yourself.)

For myself by myself? No, I'm not at all auteurish about the contents of my wardrobe :)

And I see what you mean about all the other categories of clothes too. I do hang on to some of the 'not me any more' kind just in case I ever get the chance to be that particular me again, like certain bits of goth PVC, but there are certain old-me clothes I would be thrilled to see the back of.
