Has it really been almost two years since I've updated this thing? I think last year I made the resolution to blog more and I obviously did not follow through with that. My other resolution was not to use my credit cards, which I made it to six months. Knowing my personality, I think that should count as a success.
Anyways, here are my resolutions/goals/things I'd like to do for 2012:
+Eat less, work out more.
This one is already off to a good start. I've just lost about 10 pounds in the last 4 months, maybe? I'm not entirely sure. I've been pretty good about following a low-carb diet unless I'm carb-loading for a weekend long run. Running has become addictive to me. The only thing that could stop me is an injury. Which leads to...
+Run a marathon (preferably NYC).
I've been running half-marathons since early 2011. I have one coming up in two weeks (Houston) and, if all goes well, February (Austin). If you had told me in 2009 that I'd be running half-marathons, I would not have believed you. I'm the girl that hated running in grade school and could not run a mile without stopping. A full marathon does seem impossible at the moment, but that's what I said about a half. I'd love to run the NYC marathon in November. I'm not fast enough to qualify, but I'm crossing my fingers for the lottery. I applied last year and did not get through. If you apply 3 years in a row and are not selected, you are guaranteed an entry, which is what I'm thinking will probably end up happening. So if it doesn't work out for 2012, I guess San Antonio will be good enough. NYC will probably be more affordable in the following years anyways.
+Get started on my CPA.
I've been out of college for 2 years now, so once the competitive running is over for the season (January or, hopefully, February) this will be next on my to-do list.
+Spend less, save more.
This is just a continuation of last year. I really need to harness my desire to shop.
+Be more assertive.
+Be nicer.
+Move.
+Blog more (I'm aiming for once-a-day).
Okay. Enough with those.
A quick recap of the day so far and what's to come:
I ran 8 miles this morning. The last half-mile of which was in the rain. NOT FUN. The rest of the day looks like football and napping before starting what looks like a very busy week at work. I am excited that a lot of shows are making their returns this week.
