every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end...
It's about that time folks, time for summer to end and school to begin. A time that I have very mixed emotions about....
First of all, this summer has been absolutely spectacular. I was a little worried about the whole new friends/old friends thing but I think it worked out just fine. I've had some damn good times w/ all my Deephers and guys, and some good old pals from high school, and of course there was plenty of rockin out w/ Ashley and Liz. But now it's time to start over again. I think this is gonna be a year where I start to feel like a grown up. I actually have somewhat of a big girl job, where I have to do more than clean pedicure chairs and inventory nail polishes. And I have a course load that should start to steer me towards a career.. although unfortunately I'm still a little uncertain about that one. I kinda just fell into business, but I often wonder if it's what I really want to do. I guess it's cuz I keep picturing myself stuck in an office or bank somewhere, which is what I don't want. So I need to get my act together so I can work my way up the corporate ladder somewhere and make a decent living for myself. It's kinda scary being 20 now.. like I have to start making real decisions for myself. Even summer is different. It's not like the good old days where summer was spent riding bikes, eating ice cream, going up north every other week and playing til the street lights come on. Now it's work and school for everyone, and trying to squeeze in some partying along the way. Summer is great, but sometimes I get the feeling it's not really a vacation.
But of course, life is not all work and no play. I'm so excited for recruitment it's ridiculous. It's a lot of hard work, but the outcome will be worth it I'm sure. And then there are the football games, parties, Halloween, semi, and road trips to Western and Ann Arbor to look forward to for sure. And hopefully this fall will be a little less stressful cuz I'm actually an active this year. I'm just hoping the drama factor can stay to a bare minimum and everyone can just enjoy themselves...
