Mom Blue Update
The latest from my mom is that she has been evacuated to Baton Rouge to regroup and plan for the arrival of tens of thousands of evacuees headed either there, or going through to Houston. She sounds exhausted, the volunteers have been working around the clock - she herself only got 2 hours of sleep last night and it is hard physical work they're doing. She's concerned about the seeming chaos of it all, she isn't getting the sense that there is a strong plan coming together for dealing with the sheer magnitude of the disaster...on the other hand, she's very tired and that is probably contributing to the pessimism. She is also pissed as hell at the reports of the looting. To hear her tell it, if she had a gun she'd be dangerous at the moment.
