SEOUL, Feb. 16 (Yonhap) -- North Korean leader Kim Jong-il turned 63 on Wednesday as his communist country slid deeper into isolation after declaring that it has nuclear weapons and would stay away from future disarmament talks.
The North has been trying to drum up a festive mood for Kim's birthday, with its state media urging its 23 million people to wholeheartedly support Kim's "songun," or the army-first policy to fend off a possible U.S. invasion.
