Trick Questions
"So, do you have a lot of pretty people in your office?" Iea asks. It's Friday night and we're getting ready to paint the town red. I've just finished my first week at work and I'm itching to celebrate.
Of course, it's a trick question. If I answer "Yes" I'm going to get grilled. If I answer "No" I come across as a liar.
"Lots," I reply.
"Pretty like my officemates are pretty?" Her officemates are very attractive.
"Yup."
"What kind of pretty?" Her subtle way of asking if there's anything she needs to worry about.
"All kinds of pretty... there are a lot of them."
And then the conversation turns to other things. I'm off the hook.
