I'm off to CA today for one day to see my grandparents both turn 80. The whole fam will be there so it will be lovely, but I am tired just thinking about the fact that I will be on the plane almost as long as I'm there visiting.
As for my running, I've decided if I'm gonna be serious I have to cross train. I simply can not work out enough just running to train for anything real, including the half marathon I am supposedly training for. My knees hurt, I get shin splints, and I get a bit bored (I'll admit it, I love running, but not 5-6 days a week). So, time to join a gym - unless I find an elliptical machine that's affordable before Monday, I'm headed over to Bucktown fitness to sign up for a year of access to weights and cardio machines.
This also means I can work out more easily in the evenings, regardless of heat and humidity, which in turn means I can sleep in more mornings during the week, and you can not put a price on that. Natch.
