A/N: Ok, so this part is about three times longer than I planned. The first part should have been part of part 6. It wasn't enough to have its own part. So hear it is. Actually it's a little short in some parts I wanted to write more, but I really wanted to get this out for Thanksgiving and for
pikapika217... Who actually requested this... I'm such a push over. I almost wrote a sex scene, but then I remembered that I was never going to write a sex scene for this series. Actually, when I started this, I didn't write sex scenes yet... Happy Thanksgiving!
Part 7: The Turning Tides.
Nick felt Aaron fall asleep and tightened his hold on Kevin. The blond prince felt a shift in Kevin's soul. There was a light in the darkness he had not felt before. He needed to get a closer feel. Nick released his grip on the sleeping dark-haired prince to slip off his shirt and slowly work Kevin's shirt off too. He nuzzled into Kevin's neck and pressed their chests together. His blue eyes slowly closed as he focused on the man in his arms. The blond smiled as he felt their hearts beat together and he slipped into the other man's being.
Nick didn't expect to find how much of human Kevin was. He knew there was darkness and expected it to infect every fiber of the Dark Kingdom's prince, but he found the real man. He found it easy to slip past the darkness and he was sure his brother was to thank. The younger prince gripped tighter as he found someone he liked under all that darkness. He let his hands roam and explore Kevin's muscular back. He could feel hope in his brother's plan.
---
Lance felt disturbed by this shift in Nick's actions and emotions. He really wished the connection the youngest prince made between them wasn't so strong.
Lance was hard as he felt Kevin's body through Nick's touch. He couldn't control what and where Nick's hands roamed, but he could feel how the blond prince's body responded to the tactile sensations. Damned horny teenager.
Lance tried to lay perfectly still and not turn and twist the way Nick did against Kevin. He didn't want Joshua to know he was awake. He also thought Josh would be disgusted the way the half elf was affected by human desires. He had enough of the elf's disgust as it was and didn't need to add on to it.
Lance shut his eyes and was pleased not to see the look on Kevin's unconscious body from Nick's manipulations. He felt that Nick's blue eyes were closed as well and hoped that this wouldn't last long. He suddenly felt very tired.
---
Kevin was still in a deep sleep when the sun rose and banished the night. He swimming in a dream of emotions he was unfamiliar with, but welcomed. He slowly started to wake up and found himself alone. He couldn't remember the last time he's had such a peaceful sleep and didn't bother to try. He tried to will himself back to sleep, but his peace was shattered when he heard Nick scream.
Kevin kicked out his legs as he twirled around from his makeshift bed, sending the blankets flying out from him like a discarded cape, and stood ready for battle. He was still shirtless and barefoot as his pants hung from his smooth hips. His green eyes looked around to find his missing prince. He didn't know why his heart threatened to burst from his chest. He didn't know what to call this feeling he had. It wasn't the rush of battle. It wasn't the anticipation of good fight. He couldn't find the words for this feeling. All he could really think of was Prince Nick.
Kevin saw Nick in the distance on the ground with a green Ogre, carrying a large tree like club, slowly stomping towards the blond prince. Kevin grabbed his sword from his saddle and raced towards Nick. He felt like he was flying just over the ground towards the injured prince.
Kevin came around the ogre's right side and swung with all his might at the ogre's right ankle. His sword shook from the impact that barely broke the Ogre's thick skin. Kevin could feel the vibration at the center of his being. Something was wrong with the sword. He felt it weaken as if it was an appendage going numb. He barely stood as he came between Nick and the beast. His vision blurred. He had his shaking legs shoulder width apart, his shoulders hunched forward and he gripped his sword with both hands in front of him with the blade up and forward.
The Ogre roared as it finally felt the pain from Kevin blow. It looked between its barely bleeding ankle and the sword in Kevin's hands. The Ogre glared down at the dark prince before swinging the sideways towards the dark haired man's head.
Kevin felt the world move in slow motion as he lifted the handle of his sword up with the blade down to try to deflect the Ogre's strike. As the two weapons made contact, Kevin's green eyes widened as his sword shattered and exploded in a flash of darkness. Kevin was thrown back by the force and came crashing down limp next to the blonde prince he tried to save.
Kevin could hardly focus up as Nick laid on him while looking down at him. He could only make out the blue of Nick's eyes. The dark haired man couldn't hear the blond's screams nor the thunderous stomps as the ogre came closer to them. He focused as hard as he could so that the last thing he saw would be Nick's beautiful face.
Kevin wasn't sure he should be disappointed or not. In the blink of an eye, Nick rolled them out of the way as the Ogre's club struck the ground. The impact sent dust and rock flying all over the two princes.
Nick felt his heart sink when Kevin's green eyes slowly closed. Everything else to melt away as Nick felt fear. Time seemed to stop as he watched and waited for Kevin to take a breath. His heart jumped when Kevin's chest rose and fell with the signs of life.
Nick was brought back to reality by a clap of thunder and the sudden roar from the Ogre.
---
Lance stood on the edge of a cliff, his left arms raised to the thunder clouds above, his right arm pointed straight out at the ogre in the distance and his hair mousey brown hair standing on end as this body still coursed with power. He forced out a breath and struggled to take one in. He didn't know how he did it, but he needed to do it again.
The Ogre turned to the half Elf. Its skin was barely warmed by the lightning, but he was annoyed by the interruption of his fun. Someone had to pay and be its new fun.
Lance stood frozen in fear as he realized his attack wasn't going to work and he was probably doomed. Just then Josh came up beside him and shot off an arrow high in the sky. As the arrow arched into the air and split and multiplied in to twelve before raining down on the Ogre. Lance felt a spark of hope, until thee arrows bounced harmlessly off the Ogre's skin.
"Running would be good," Josh whispered.
"Fire again," Lance ordered and tried not to look at Josh. He didn't want to lose his confidence.
"But neither of our attacked worked?" Josh hissed as he pulled another arrow out of his quiver.
"Just do it!" Lance shouted and started to concentrate. Josh shot another arrow into the sky and as it multiplied a bolt of lightning shot down on Lance, through his body and shot forward charging the arrows. The arrows slammed into the Ogre's chest and he screamed in pain. The glowing arrows discharged into the Ogre's body.
The Ogre stumbled back a few steps before snarling at the Elfs and storming off into the distance.
---
Nick barely paid any attention to the departure of the Ogre and turned back down to the unconscious man. He felt time slow as he took in every sign of life from Kevin. The blond prince looked into the dark haired prince for all the bodily damage sustained.
Nick had never used his abilities like this before. He was always on the run as fast as he could. Now he was slowing everything down so he wouldn't miss any signs of distress. Well, anymore distress than the eye could see or that Kevin had already obviously endured. Nick finally let time run forward as he felt Lance approach.
"Are you ok?" Lance huffed as he tried to breath. Between the lightning, the fear and a distance from the top of the cliff to the fallen pair, Lance wasn't sure if he was barely breathing.
"Yeah," Nick whispered as he laid half across Kevin and rested his head on Kevin's bare chest.
---
Josh and Lance were ahead of the pair of princes on their horses trying to find the quickest way back to the Sea Side Kingdom. They argued over which way to go. Josh had been away from the Kingdom for so long and Lance never left Mystical Mirror Lake unless he had to. Lance had never ventured this far to the boarders before.
"Thank you for saving my life," Kevin mumbled as he sat behind Nick on his horse. He was slumped against the blonde's back as he recovered. Nick was more than a little bubbly as the control of the horse was not in Kevin's hands.
"You're welcome. Thanks for sav... Well, trying to save my live," Nick mused, "Actually, it was kind of pathetic. Since, I ended up saving you..."
"Don't mention it," Kevin sneered into Nick's neck, "ever."
