The plough is threatening murder as it opens the mouses nest in a field,
Sorry about that mouse dude,
Mouse has to theive stuff to get on in life,
Mouses house is trashed - better move to a bigger new one,
You thought (mouse) it was all cosy but now its trashed by the plough,
It was a nice pile of leaves and stubble - now your out in the rain,
Like all our plans - the best laid plans of mice and men - dont always come to fruition,
At least you live in the now - I keep thinking about the past and worrying about the future mousey.

An analogy for his (Burns) many house moves, and a great analogy for when things don't go as planned!

Grins ... I was joking ... even through the heavily laid on dialect, I got the point. Burns is mandatory reading in most American high school classes on world literature.

I have a wee scottish friend who I am trying to persuade to do Burns night readings when I organise a Burns Night but I keep chickening out, the trouble is it's just after xmas, great in terms of people being free, crap in terms of having the energy to organise.

P.S. I realised that, but I enjoy translating for you americans ;)
