Wicked holiday!
Friday 5 hr drive in the am, long walk around Bournemouth looking for food, shopping at The Pier, (black glitter vase, peachy candle and glass holder,) watching the surf dudes (well choppy down there,) the looking round the Aquarium. Evening at Poole quay, dinner in a fabulous authentic Italian, then into 'Jazzys' jazz bar for live jazz on the piano/double base.
Saturday, to the bike shop, then off to the moors (via the chain ferry.) Cycle up to 'Old Harry' and back, (very pleased with self,) then over to Corfe, walk around the castle, and have lunch in a quaint little pub up there. Miander back to B&B. Evening, dinner at, (another Italian by mistake,) restaurant on the beach, followed by shooting back to B&B to put on killer heels and mini-skirt, to go CLUBBING!...
'The Opera House' was showing live 'Happy Mondays tribute band, (we though it was gonna be Pete Tong but...) followed by Annie Nightingale who played some stomping tunes, (but can't mix for shit,) and much to my suprise and delight it was halloween fancy dress, so there were wearwolves, ye olde bride & grooms, slutty witches, along with performance artists, stilt walkers, fire dancers, and crotch angle grinding going on as well!! And it is a fantastic old opera house and they had decorated it all with leaves and tree branches and cobwebs. I was suprised to find a night clucb with a burger bar, photo booth, and laughing gas on sale (am I getting old?)
Sunday we packed, then went for a long walk through 'Alum Chine' there are pockets of woodland in Bournemouth in ravines called 'Chines' we wondered down to the beach and back, it was raining and felt like rain forest in there all tree roots and mossyness. Tried to find somewhere to eat, (mistake on a sunday,) got very very rained on in the process then drove home, which took 6/7 hours.
Had a day off yesterday to recover! Will post some pics when I get my camera out of the car!
