Dream Log for Thursday, April 26th, 2007, and other stuff.

Last night I dreamt I was riding on the Green Line in Dream Chicago. It was daylight outside, and I was riding the train to one of the extreme ends of its route. This end was in some poorer neighborhood and I had some specific and vaguely important objective in mind, though I don't now remember what it was. The people on the train would occasionally give me funny looks because I was the only white guy on the train, but they all seemed like very nice people, if appearances are at all meaningful. Several of them were bundled up in what looked like quilts, which was odd, as it wasn't all that cold outside. We were one stop away from the end of the line when the train suddenly stopped and reversed directions, going back to the previous stop. Slightly miffed, I decided to make the best of it and got off the train. I believe I was wearing a black leather jacket, and looked decidedly Scott-2-ish. I sort of abandoned whatever my original goal was, and wandered around the area. This, too, was a poorer neighborhood, but a very fetching one, with well-tended buildings and an oddly spacious feel for an urban area. There was also, inconcgruously, a gaming store on one corner, and I remembered that I'd told Greg, Haase, and Abram last week that I'd bring my own d20s next Saturday for D&D, so I went in to purchase some. The store was very small, and its proprietor, a handsome young gentleman with short but uncombed dark hair, creeped me out for no easily placeable reason. After looking around for a couple of seconds, I asked him sheepishly where the dice were kept. He pointed me over to a row of wooden cabinets off to my left, which I went over to. None of the cabinets actually contained any dice, however. I looked through all of them, and all they contained were old-fashioned molded plastic army men. While looking through said cabinets, I noticed the music that was playing in the background. I have no idea what the music actually sounded like, but it reminded me vaguely (and unpleasantly) of Eminem. It also seemed to me that the song was trying to mock the sort of geeks and nerds who'd habitually come into a gaming store like this one. I didn't think that the song did a very good job of it, though, so it was more amusing than offensive.

I also dreamt, just before waking up, that I was a seer or visionary with prophetic powers, and that I was involved in some negotiations over the division of some treasure with a band of dwarves.

----------

In real-world news, Agnes, in four days I'll be on a plane to Philidelphia with my father.

Which is very, very weird.

Weird since 1986,

P.S. I formatted my text to "small" size, because I'm tired of how obviously over-long and wordy my entries are. Also, I'm a malicious asshole and I want to ruin all of your eyes, so that I will become like the one-eyed man in the kingdom of the blind! Bwa-ha-ha!
