Dream Log for tuesday, September 26th, 2006

I remember, dimly, one of the dreams that I had last night. I was somewhere out West, along with various other employees of the Trail Ridge Store I worked with this most recent summer. We were having a christmas celebration. Actually, we were having a british christmas celebration, if ya dig. Unfortunately, I believe most of us were rather surprised by this event, as the only people who had actually come prepared with presents were the retirees and Jenny. At first, I was disappointed that it didn't look like I was going to get a present, but this disappointment soon changed into embarassment at the fact that I didn't bring anything for anyone else. We were all gathered in a small room, too small to fit the lot of us comfortably, with dark brown wooden walls and small windows. It looked like it could have been used as an room in a house from a movie made in the '70s. Either some drama starring Jane Fonda, or else a crappy but reasonably well-budgeted horror movie. Also, there were streamers hanging from the ceiling and a few other feeble attempts to make decorations. Then we all went outside for a walk. The land was dry and shrubby. It reminded me of the week I spent out in Wyoming digging fossils after my Jr. year of high school. It was night out, but the ground and the grass and the people looked much more illuminated than they should have under the minimal lights of the night sky. I didn't talk much to the others, but just answered, perfunctorily, the questions put to me by Mary Kay, Jenny, and that blond thirtysomething who arranged displays. I don't really remember any of the other kids being there, but there were a lot of people in our group, and they were all labeled in my head as "coworkers from last summer", so I suppose they must have been. I woke up around this time, and the dream ended.
