"Manson Girl" (poem)

Sep 27, 2009 17:32

Manson Girl
(a.k.a. Susan D. Atkins/
”Sadie Mae Glutz”)

“Look, bitch-I
don’t give a damn,”
she said with dumb
blonde eyes
on the Holly-
wood prize (Helter
Skelter pigs
drown

amniotically).

She stabbed her
Barbie
vulnerability
with the blunt
edge of her hack
anger & stuffed
Polanski’s baby
fist in her mouth
with a sprig
of rosemary
garnish

cackling confessions
beneath fluorescent
jailbird
lights.

Manson girl
of myriad
California
mirror
mansions

Satan ripped her
Woolworth’s girdle
into red moon
shreds(high noon

priestess
office
lunch packed
into tight
tinny box-
sized
pox shot
bites)

American underground
legend of killer
legs sprouting
haggard thoughts
pubically.

She stopped to take
a crap on the stairway
to heaven

when she could’ve
sold Girl
Scout cookies
on her long-

winded
way
home.
