Diving Too Deep For Coins

My chinchilla is trying to gnaw his way out of his cage, like he does every day.  You'd think he'd have realized by now that it's not gonna happen.  And my dad and brother are downstairs giggling like little girls.  Why are so few members of my family intelligent, sane, and without embarrassing laughs?

Instead of being anything vaguely resembling productive last night, I found the old anime version of Thumbelina on YouTube and spent my evening watching that.  Because, clearly, I am a mature individual with my priorities in order.  Right.

Anyway, the point is, I've had this itch to venture back into anime/manga again.  I was tentatively into it in high school, but apparently the few things I did read - like Inuyasha and Ranma 1/2 - are generally perceived as sucky.  So I've been lurking around fandomsecrets in hopes of seeing something interesting, but so far there have only been a bunch of people either gushing over or bashing this Hetalia thing.  I mean, it sounds kind of interesting, but are the countries all pretty boys?  Because that would bore me.

I was intrigued by Blood+ - I might even have the first volume of the manga (or maybe it's Bleach), but damned if I can remember where it is, and I don't have the inclination to dig around for it just yet.  Meh.

Well, I guess I could do actual work, but let's be realistic here: I'm going to wind up wasting my time online, so I'll just make that my intention from the outset.

family, fandom
