Chapter 2
Hermione and Ginny arrived outside the Burrow together. Hermione was shaking, terrified to go inside. She didnt have the strength to apparate away however. That, and Ginny's hand so tight on her arm wouldnt allow her to go alone.
"Gin, please please.. it'll hurt Ron so much and.."
The door flew open and Ron ran out. He kissed his sisters cheek and grinned.. \
"You got her out."
"I hate you ronald.. you tricked me!"
Hermione tried to run off but both grabbed her. He kissed her lightly.
"Hermione.. its for the best.. ok.. Stay with Gin."
Ginny just grinned the smile of a cheshire cat. The two together dragged Hermione inside. She froze when she saw who was there... Snape.
"Good evening miss Granger. I'm not here for you so you can stop gawking at me like a fool."
She almost threw up at the sight of him and they let her run up the stairs to Ron's room. Instead she dived into Ginny's since it was closer. Tears fell quickly as Ginny snuck up behind her and slid her arms around Hermione's quivering body. She rocked her back and forth and let her cry until Hermione stopped.
"My, baby, it's allright. He helped us.. he couldn't get you out.. you know that. Not if we were going to beat them."
Hermione just shook until Ginny walked her downstairs, quiet, but somewhat together.
"So Hermione.. want that secret yet?"
She'd completely forgotten and smiled. "Absolutely Ron.. who is this person you're apparently willing to like me for?"
"I like you well enough without him thanks."
"Him? "
Harry had been standing behind Ron's chair and took his cue, reaching down and kissing ron hard and quick.. pulling away so fast that Ron hollered.
"hey! come back you arse.."
"no."
Ron pouted. "pleaseeeee?"
"never."
"Fine.. I dont like living boys anyway."
Ron got tackled.
Hermione just sat looking shocked until Harry came over. He kissed her softly, making her smile.
"I love him.. can you blame me? You know you were never even in need of forgiveness here.. just a little time. right?"
"OK.. I think."
They sat to dinner then, using charms to heat it up. Severus stayed near Charlie and held his hand under the table. Bill and Fleur and their baby were spread across the table amogst others. The twins sat on either side of harry, and Ginny and Ron surrounded Hermione. She eventually calmed leaning into ginny's side slowly. Ginny pretended not to notice, knowing she was still skittish.
After dinner there was a surprise as Nymphadora, the twins new girlfriend, flooed in with a huge wrapped cake to celebrate Hermione's homecoming, as they thought of it.
"Molly and Arthur would have been glad to see this day" Nymph said.
"To mom and dad" called Bill.
They all raised their glasses and grinned together. They drank to the memory of the two most amazing people any of them could name.
"To Percy too, and the others.. For their bravery" Harry added. They drank again.
Ginny refilled Hermione's cup enough that she passed out to sleep just after dinner. They tucked her into Ginny's bed and partied into the evening together. Even Severus.
