Wow...

Well, after two new attempted journals over the course of several years I've decided to simply go old school. Thought about changing the name, but there are so many memories here!

If we are still friends and you're still active I'd love to hear from you! My goal is to update at least once a week. I'm very out of practice though, so we'll see how it goes.

Part of me thinks it would take hours to update with everything that's been going on with my life, but part of me thinks I can sum it up fairly quickly. I'm going with brevity so I don't bore anyone... (If there's anyone still out there!)

1. I'm married. Jonathan and I were married on July 25th, 2009. It was a beautiful day that went by far too quickly. Married life is wonderful so far - though I don't feel like we see each other nearly enough. (Hopefully that will keep things fresh for years to come!)

2. I'm full-time @ Sobeys. Officially I am the Front End "Third" - there is a department manager, an assistant department manager, then me. For the most part I enjoy what I'm doing. I'm glad to be back on the front end and dealing with people instead of stuck out back in an office doing admin work. Different stresses I guess, but this position better suits my personality.

Um, I guess that's it... My life is very similar to what it was a year and a half ago other than those two items.

Obviously (or not so obviously I guess) I no longer live in my parents' basement. Jonathan and I have a little apartment that's only a 10 minute walk from work. My good friend Beth recently moved in to our building which is wonderful. (Though we still don't see a lot of each other.)

After our honeymoon Jonathan and I adopted a kitten from the SPCA. Her name is Sydney (after Sydney, Cape Breton where we honeymooned and not after Sidney Crosby) and she is my baby. She's absolutely beautiful and super playful and lovable. She's a purring machine. :-)

Jonathan finished his machinist couse at NSCC in June 2008. The company he was working for petitioned the college and actually had them graduate him early so he could start working full-time for them. When the economy had it's downturn his hours got cut and we panicked for a bit, but he ended up getting a raise that meant he was making the same amount each week and working less. Things have started picking up again and he's back working 12 hour shifts. (One week of days followed by a week of nights.) The extra money has been nice, but it's definitely have a negative affect on the time we spend together.

My brother is still healthy. No sign of the cancer returning which is an absolute blessing. He's still living at home with Mom & Dad but has his own car and a grown-up job working as an IT Service Technician for a local computer company. He and a buddy are planning a trip to San Diego in July to attend Comic-Con and he's super excited.

I think that's enough for now.
