I saw it this evening, and it was a blast (sometimes literally) from start to finish. The 'new' guys did a great job stepping into the old characters, though I found Jessica Biel to be a bit of pointless eye candy. Why was she there again??! Ah yes, the plot. It's a simple enough story, but the focus is of course these crazy, serious, RIDICULOUSLY FUN bunch of guys interacting with each other. Blowing stuff up! Flying tanks! Making all sorts of gizmos for their covert operations! Wheeee!
It's all there; Hannibal and his iconic cigar, B.A and his fear of flying, Face lovin' the ladies. My movie-watching companions and I all agreed, though: Murdock was THE BEST THING EVAR. Much love for Sharlto Copley, he was awesome. <3
I'm pleased the film didn't wreck my childhood memories of the original series, it was what concerned me the first time I heard about the movie. But I came away from it with a big ol' smile on my face, as did everyone else that was there. It is such a fun movie to experience in it's own right (bonus for some of us: Canadian filming locations. It's all connected, baby. Ahem.) GO SEEEE IT, if you can. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the crazy ride.
