We had an awesome vacation weekend in Ohio. We saw the columbus zoo and the newport aquarium and we got to eat at some really cool places as well. At the zoo we saw a lot of rare and awesome animals like the red panda - my new favorite animal. We also saw a wolverine, a moose, lots of fish and pretty coral, brother bears playfighting, an arangatang playing peek-a-boo with us by lifting a blanket up and down over his face, an okapi and much much much much much much more....it's a very big zoo. Lisa was an awesome tour guide...was happy to get to spend a day with her.
a few pixs from the zoo:

I took her to a penguin encounter where she actually got to touch a penguin and learn more about these adorable little guys. They are soooo soft and silky to the touch. Adrianna was a little timit about touching the penguin but once she did she was soooo excited about it. When we were done she couldn't wait to tell everyone about it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v495/kmbst10/kingp.jpg it's funny though when it was time to eat(a staff member went in there to feed them)they all turned to the side like they were in the army and walked in a line to where the food was and waited to get fed...was interesting to watch.
I do wish I coulda got a better view of the octopus though...it was hiding in this big rock and all I got to see was the one leg with the suction cups...they had a TV though with immages and it is huge.
Towards the end of the aqarium visit Adrianna got a little brave and wanted to touch some sharks:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v495/kmbst10/HPIM2254.jpg I also couldn't very well have gone to Ohio without going to BD's mongolian BBQ - awesome and Dave liked it to...Adrianna eventually liked it as well once I found out that she liked the tomato and basil soup that she started to share with Staycie so I grabbed Anna her own bowl with some crackers and a side bowl of manderine oranges then she was happy.
We also really enjoyed the Noodle company. They had all sorts of different kinds of pasta dishes and it was delicious.
It was such an awesome weekend. I do hope that I can see my Ohio crew again soon.
