Had a nice visit with the family in philly.
We kinda lucked out with the weather because the only day it rained was friday and that was the day we went to china town and walked around in the rain going from shop to shop. While we were there we hit the main tourist shopping store. They had books, clothes, decorative fans, lots of jade jewelry, and lots of pretty things. Li bought Adrianna this beautiful royal blue chinese girl outfit (has a long sleve top and pants.) There was also this cute book called Jin Jin the dragon. Anna really seemed to like it but I didn't wanna pay what they were asking for it. So maybe I'll find it on amazon or something.
Then we went into the Marketplace where they bought some groceries. They asked if we wanted anything and I was like well if I can't ead it I don't think I want it. Though they did have some watermellon there...maybe shoulda got some of that for the weekend. We took a chance though and got Adrianna these koala cookies. Think of Pocky except its better cause the little bear is filled with that chocolate cream filling. We also got what looked like mango jello cups - those are pretty good to.
Saturday we went to the little park that's down the road from their house, Anna had a good time. For dinner we had chinese style ribs. They were stewed and stuff and it was really good. They also had potatoes that were shredded and had some spices on it and that was good. I also tried the spicey tofoo on rice and that was good as well. We were kinda warned by the inlaws to watch out for their cooking cause their stuff is kinda bland but saturdays cuisine was really good and flavorful.
Sunday we watched the Steeler game and then went out to eat at a chinese buffet. We pigged out on crab legs. Yum. Adrianna loved the lou main noodles...not surprised it's pasta afterall. She also ate corn on the cob, some of the fries, and watermellon.
Monday Dave, Anna, and I went to Ocean City New Jersey. Long drive >_< and once we got there Adrianna got scared she really didn't enjoy it much. She said that the water was too loud. so it sucked cause we wanted to have a good time with her there but she was just very clingy/whinney. Had we been there longer maybe she would have warmed up to it like the year when we went to OC Maryland. So our stay on the beach was short. We ended up walking around on the boardwalk where a lot of things were closed I guess due to it being after labor day or something. But we managed to get some pizza and we bought Adrianna a new toy. There were these two guys with these really long wands and at the end of the wands it had a thing that created really really big bubbles and Adrianna LOVED it. That was prolly her favorite part of the whole day at the beach (aside from pizza time) so we went ahead and got her one. There were some really nice looking mini golf courses on the boardwalk but Anna is just not into that yet. Not enough of an attention span etc. They also had waterslides which looked like a lot of fun to but that was closed.
Hope we can see everyone in philly again soon.
till next time.
