With every passing day it has brought great warmth to see friendship growing between the Crogs and my people. It seems that the prior hesitation and unease to work alongside them has started to subside among some of the older generations now as well ( Read more... )

Sounds like you've just seen the end of a war too.

A race...could be interesting. I've been in fighting tournaments before but never a race.

Our war was more of an occupation that has been over for several years now. Currently, we are making amends, slowly but surely.

There is quite a difference between the two. Perhaps you would be interested in participating when the time comes?

I know where you're coming from, for the most part. There was a long war between the humans and the Deimos that only ended about two years ago.

Maybe. Are you talking about a footrace?

As I mentioned, the Crogs were our occupants though we are now attempting to find peace with our neighbors. I pray to Dol Arrah that the humans and Deimos of your world have done the same or are in the middle of doing so.

No, I am not. The race of which I speak requires either a mount or a machine that can fly.

Thanks, there is peace now, but it's not exactly a stable one just yet. There's still a lot of bad feelings between us both. Why did the Crogs try to occupy your world anyway?

A flying mount huh? I've got that covered. I don't think Pyron's ever raced before but it should be interesting!

They... succeeded, and only out of displaying their military prowess and to use our natural resources, which they have stripped their home world, Kramm, of.

Then when the time draws closer, I shall announce the race be opened to members of the community.

How the hell did you get rid of them if they already had a hold on your world?

All right. I never really thought about racing, but any I'm up for any good competition.

After the Great Race of Oban, there was a time when the Crogs' war machines were rendered useless. They were driven from the Holy City of Dol and forced back even further until they left.

It never hurt a soul to try something new, no?

Great Race of Oban..?

Ah, forgive me. It is a grand race held once every ten thousand years with pre-selections held on one of three planets and the finals on the planet of Oban situated at the center of the universe. Many are drawn to compete with the promise of the Ultimate Prize, said to be any wish or dream the winner may have. Alas, this prize is nothing but a fraud, the true one being named as the Avatar and protector of the galaxy for the next ten thousand years.

...Wait a minute, the Avatar...that sounds familiar.

My friend Jordan is the current reigning Avatar. If you are familiar with him from the community, perhaps that is why. Unless you've spoken with the young airbender, Aang, who is an different Avatar yet a good friend of mine.

Ha ha, that's why - I know them both! Not very well, but I fought Jordan at Mascorrida. He told me he's a god so that explains why I lost, I just didn't know he was the god of a whole galaxy.

Ah, I hope you found them both agreeable at the least. Some don't upon first meeting him, but being a god has nothing to do whether you won or lost, as I recall being a spectator at that match myself, no combatant was allowed to use magical ability, correct?

Yeah, but he still has a god's strength and speed. At least he was a challenge though.

It was indeed a splendid match. Though what is a fight if it is not a challenge?
