I... I have no idea why I did it.... The way she was talking, it sounded as if they had broken up. Why?! What possessed me to do it? I thought I buried my feelings for her long ago. I simply cannot win. Even when I win, I lose. For example, when the Crogs left, my father died soon afterwards. My life always seems to bring me back to pain and misery. No matter how happy I become, it all turns to dust.
