I know there is absolutely nothing anyone can say to make this OK for you, but just know that you're not alone. You have lots of friends to turn to. We'll all be here for you.
*hugs* Oh darlin, if there is anything I can do let me know. I'm here for ya like everyone else. If you need anything, even a ride to the airport just let me know.
*hugs* i understand fully how your feeling. my fathers mother had alzheimers and spent most of my young life in a nursing home. the few times i saw her were depressing to say the least and always emotionally draining. i never got to see her enough when she was aware of her surroundings. the last time i saw her the way she stared at me (and only me) was "no your not 20+ your supposed to be 5 years old, you've not had enough time to grow up." it was nerve racking (especially since she refused to look at any of the rest of the family and followed me w/ her eyes the whole time i was there. when she finally passed it was a blessing in disguise. for as sad as we were to see her go, we were all happy that she was no longer suffering and trapped in a body she couldnt use.
if you ever need to talk, you have my number *hugs* enjoy what you can of your trip and DONT beat your self up for not making it back there sooner. your grandmother knows you love her and she'll always be watching of you and Kiara.
