I almost fell of my seat at the fact there was continuity.

Agravaine is a creepy, creepy nurse, isn't he? Yet he doesn't bother to brush her hair.

I know what I would do too.

I agree I think Agravaine is in love with Morgana. It's the only thing that makes his loyalty to her make sense.

Your dream sounds more entertianing than Morgana's flashback one.

I love the whole - we know and he knows thing. There is much knowing.

I don't like the new opening titles either. As you say a half arsed job.

I was hoping for some wrestling in bed with Arthur not wearing trousers but I will settle for wrestling out of bed.

I suspect that it was Merlin who organised the garland competition because he wants to see what Arthur looks like wearing the different entries.

Since he's become King Arthur has been moving more toward nudity on a daily basis.

Tis a pity Morgana didn't make the effort for the colourful market. I suspect she sent a snake on ahead of her. She seems fond of them.

Morgana wouldn't have to be the last of her kind of she got recruiting. I mean there must be other young impressionable witches out there but she's too busy planning revenge.

I hear the boat keeper has added an entire bracelot shop now.

Telepathy? The Catha is just that awesome he knows?

Arthur is pretty. Pretty stupid at times but pretty none the lss. Then agaon that's true of most of the characters.

The thing with Agravaine bothers me becuase Arthur was prepared to think Agravaine was a the traitor last episode before Agravaine gave that spiel about Arthur's mother. Arthur is emotionally vulnerable at this point true but I hope he at least now (post this episode) doubts his uncle a little.

Plus it just bothers me it's obvious Agraviane didn't send birthday cards.

Merlin loves giving Arthur shiny things. He's like Arthur's peronal magpie.

I think it is Lancelot's horse! I hope he can fetch.

Agravaine was playing it so well in that scene - the lies! Really he acted it very well. And yes there are so many levels of hlf truths and secrets floating about that scene.

I was glad to see Arthur say let Gaius go. Proof that he's not Uther, that he has doubts.

I find the irony in this how is that now with Uther gone it's the water that's thicker than blood. The people who care about Arthur most are those not related to him - Merlin, Gaius, the knights, Gwen. Except Arthur doesn't know that.

I would love to know what those papers were. But yeah Gwen felt shoehorned in.

I am guessing Catha guy thought as magic in Camelot is banned Gaius would not have any.

Poor Merlin. His ninja skills failed him there.

I want to know where Gwaine learnt his geology from.

Once Giaus starts talking he lets it all out doesn't he?

You know even when the reveal comes I bet most of Camelot don't believe it.

I think Morgana would not know Gwaine. I don't think they have seen each other before.

I am sure Giaus does actually use the dagger technique to check if someone is alive or dead.

I loved the fangirling Catha. OMG! IT'S YOU!

What is with the 5 kingdoms thing? We know there are more kings than that!

I am guessing Merlin didn't tell Giaus of the proof of the box with book of sorcerery in it.

Arthur and Merlin could never really really fall out. Unless it's the reveal. Erm...

The Arthur and Giaus scene was a thing of beauty. I loved the hints that Giaus was dropping and it seems that Arthur really was taking it all on baord. I'm itnerested to see how this develops now.

I enjoyed it but I think it's the weakest one so far in that I didn't feel the wow factor. But then it's still miles better thn a lot of other peiosdes so... As yet there's not been a dud episode this season. Quell surprise.

And yes I liked how even though it wasn't about them there was still Merlin and Arthur nad the secrets between them at the heart of it. You described it perfectly. I loved the pillar throne shot.

I suspect next week Arthur will be garland making.

What is it about this show that they depict the mentally unstable as having unbrushed hair? First Uther, now Morgana. At least we know Gwaine's ok...

Morgana should get recruiting! What happened to her Pirate bandits from last week?

Yeah, I think Arthur definitely has doubt about Agravaine. I don't think he externalises it though. He is being rational about it. Agravaine did bring Gaius back and Gaius obviously didn't contradict the events. I think Arthur senses things, but doesn't always act on them. He sort of tucks them away.

Yeah, I don't remember Morgana in the Gwaine's first episode in season 3. She must have been smirking else where.

They are really hitting us over the head with the FIVE kingdoms spiel this season. I wonder why that is? Is it so we can cross them off our list when Arthur unites Albion?

I was so glad of the ARthur/Gaius scene. Especially as I was having mad love for the ones in last weeks episode. It was like someone answered my wish!

I don't think it did have a wow factor as an episode, it wasn't all crash! bang! wallop! That's actually why I quite liked it, and why it stood out for me. It was all very whispery and quiet. There never seemed to be more than 3 people in a scene. Maybe the odd extra here and there, but the scenes felt very empty of clutter to disguise the dishonesty. It felt that the sound/music was a lot less that some episodes, which added to the quietness.

I'm a bit worried about where Arthur is next week. All the Knights and Gwen are on the field trip with Merlin, where is he? He wasn't in the trailer at all. Hmmm...

We should get worried if Gwaine's hair ever takes a turn for the worse.

That's a good question! Perhaps someone else gave them a better offer (like a ship).

Oo that's a good way of putting it. He is the kinnd of person to keep it locked up tight inside.

Yeah I can't even recall if she was in that episode...

Apparently the Anglo-Saxons had five kingdoms so that might be where the writers got the idea from. It's daft but... this is Merlin.

Me too! It was just SO GOOD.

I think it really did move the serious themes on quite a bit. It was unstated but that worked for the drama.

I have a poll in my LJ. I suspect garland making or getting George drunk. All whilst running around naked because Merlin isn't there to dress him.

Maybe the Pirate Bandits got their scripts mixed up and they're already laying in wait for next week.

Five Kingdoms = Nine Rulers. Who's sharing??

Ooo myabe so.

Hmmm Alined and Alinor perhaps?

Odin does not seem the sharing type.

The question I'm asking is who did Cendred's kingdom go to? I highly doubt he has any legit heirs (I didn't see Mrs Cendred knocking around). So either it went to some distant relative, or the other kingdoms divided it up among themselves.
