Rats, virtual reality, and kinky bird sex.........AKA my academic life

Dec 01, 2002 21:15

So Thanksgiving was good. Got to see Jenn and her family for turkey on Thursday, and then got to hang out with Jack and his family for turkey on Friday, because Jack had to work on Thursday. Overall, fairly good break. Just didn't get enough work done. Now I'm back here with too much to do. Oh well. Such is life. In case you were REALLY curious, here's my list of stuff I have to do:

- Psych lab report. The BIG final lab report about what I've done all semester with my rat. Peer review tomorrow, first draft due to professor on Wednesday, final draft due 12/16.

- Psych article presentation. Just picked out my article, about the use of virtual reality in treating fear of flying (LOL), have to give it to the class tomorrow, present it next Monday.

- Ethology lab report. About squirrels, and what they do when I play two different sounds at them: one of robins singing, the other of Shez and me talking about the new Harry Potter movie. This does actually have a point. It's supposed to show how accustomed squirrels are to people. I'm not actually sure when this one's due, I'm assuming the last day of classes.

- Independent paper. Eek. This is the big one, I don't even know how many pages it has to be. I'm kinda scared of it. I still need to get a ton more articles, I think I'm going to have to voyage to the other schools to borrow their libraries for the journals they have that we don't. Oh well. At least it's kinda interesting. I'm writing about male-female relationships in the house sparrow. So I'm writing about bird sex. But not just that, I'm also writing about the dominance relationships between the two. Oh boy, now it sounds like I'm writing about kinky bird sex. I promise I'm not........

That's pretty much everything I have to do, other than my ethology final exam and three makeup riding classes. I'm trying really hard not to have a breakdown. I have wonderful aspirations of being completely organized, clear-minded, and hardworking. Lol. We'll see how long that lasts.........

school, holidays, stress
