This is totally random and kinda amusing.
A woman just knocked on my door, which is in and of itself strange, since my street has exactly *four* houses on it. She told me there's a new vacuum store opening in Lowell and handed me what she said was a "free gift for you" of carpet cleaner. Apparently they're doing free carpet cleanings to promote the store. Well, I have carpet in the tiniest room in my tiny house. (Really, picture a small one bedroom apartment and make it a house. You have the right idea.) And that room is the office/extra storage/etc room, so it's jampacked full of furniture, boxes, and other miscellany, so there's really no carpet visible to clean in the first place. I explained this to the woman, she thanked me for my time, and I asked her if she needed the carpet cleaner back, because really, what do I need it for? She said yes, took it from me, and left. Now, I really have no use for the carpet cleaner or any of her services, but didn't she say it was a free gift?
So, anybody in the greater Lowell area, beware of the carpet cleaning woman and her supposed "free gift."
