Okay, so I know I said I'd update soon, but this has been a wicked busy week. Monday was my first day of anything clinical. I went to a nursing home and performed a complete history and physical on an actual patient. It went pretty well, I think, it's just that much more time traveling places and that much more work to do every week. I'll be there every Monday afternoon for the next five weeks or so.
I've spent about seven hours in anatomy lab this week, instead of our usual two. I had our usual session on Tuesday afternoon, one of the extra sessions that our instructor scheduled for the class on Thursday morning, and a meeting with just a few of us and our instructor yesterday afternoon. Five of us had to prepare presentations and present them to him yesterday because our performance on the exam was, well, not as stellar as we would have liked. My brain is absolutely fried after an afternoon of discussing which compartment of the wrist contains the tendon of the flexor carpi radialis muscle and other fascinating details of human anatomy. Afterwards, we did a little de-stressing
here. Mmmm, yummy pumpkin spice ale and nachos.
This week is as follows: today, Hannah's second birthday party; tomorrow, study study study; Monday, school and clinical; Tuesday Wednesday Thursday, school; Friday Saturday Sunday, long weekend!
