(no subject)
Good morning, people! Am updating from my mac, I'm in the hall. Surprise, surprise. Haha. Stayed over with Liming last night, it wasn't as bad as I expected cos at least I got 6+ hours of sleep (I rarely can sleep in strange places). Managed to set up the internet connection in my room at last! Couldn't do it, and no one knew why, hardly anyone here owns a mac. Finally figured I only typed in proxy.ntu.edu.sg once, instead of thrice. But I couldn't see the picture in the page I had previously saved, cos I saved it in the no pictures format, and could only refer to the written instructions. Which didn't state I had to type that in thrice. Haha. Quite stupid, innit? And I thought I was being smart, saving the page prior coming here, so I could refer how to set up the connection myself. Anyways.
Hall-hopped yesterday, some of our juniors came over after the welcome thingy (which was rather amusing, we were given torches and asked to do a wave of light thingy. Only half the people lit their torches way before they were supposed to, and the whole auditorium just ended up looking funny. Haha. And they made us wear the graduation gowns when we said the NTU student pledge! How corny is that! Haha! But it provided some warmth in the cold room q:). And having them comment on the plus points of our room made us see the better things, and appreciate them. I remember how *tiaow* we were, that we had to climb 3+1 flights of stairs to our room, but we're lucky cos other people have to climb 3+5 stories.. 3 because it's 3 sets of stairs before the "main" level. Haha. At this rate, our legs will become beautiful in no time! And they made us realise our room was one of the biggest, and we had 2 fans so it wasn't as hot as theirs.. Etc. Nothing like the jealousy approval of others to make you cherish what you've got, huh? (:
We visited Ivy's later and made her feel better about her room (heh), and ended up watching FRIENDS in the t.v. room. It was air-conditioned. And we had it to ourselves for 3 hours, we chatted and gossiped and it was fun! :D Was supposed to visit Yvonne and Lynn's room too, but it was too late and we wouldn't be able to get back from there (our two rooms are at opposite ends of NTU!), so we're popping by another day. They are badly in need of our "approval"; they're demoralised after seeing Ivy's and my room. Haha.
Alright, going off to find some form of sustenance. We only had junk for dinner cos the hall canteens were closed. Hungry!
