My Most Anticipated of 2007

10. They Call Me Bruce
Starring: Bruce Campbell

This was on my 2006 anticipated list. Turns out, I'm still anticipating. It's the coolest plot idea ever, and no one can deny that Bruce Campbell is the coolest person on the planet. The reason it's last on the list is because I simply don't know when it will be released.

9. Fido
Starring: Carrie-Anne Moss, Billy Connolly

This is a Canadian film, one I managed NOT to get tickets for at TIFF this year. It also has an awesome plot idea: zombies as pets. I can't wait til I get my hands on it, and it's apparently getting a release in 2007, so I will hopefully FINALLY be able to see it.

8. Across The Universe
Starring: Evan Rachel Wood

Alright: first, it has the Beatles going for it. It's got to be half decent on that alone. Secondly, it's a musical, and I adore musicals (the theatre geek in me). Thirdly, it has Julie Taymor, who has done fabulous work, particularly on the theatrical version of The Lion King (her movies are pretty good too). Should be interesting.

7. Bridge to Terabithia
Starring: AnnaSophia Robb

Well, I vaguely remember reading this in elementary school. Basically, go look at the trailer. It has fantasy creatures, which essentially means I must see it immediately.

6. Beowulf
Starring: Anthony Hopkins, Angelina Jolie

I'm going on the basis that the poem itself is pretty cool, and that Neil Gaiman had a hand in writing the screenplay. It's also animated, so I don't actually have to look at Angelina. Bonus! (oh come on, she has crazy fish lips).

5. Grind House
Starring: Kurt Russell, Rose McGowan

It's Tarantino. It has a fucked up trailer. It has someone with a machine gun for a leg. It also has Tracie Thoms, who I albsolutely love. This will be an interesting watch.

4. 300
Starring: Gerard Butler, Lena Headley

Just go look it the trailer. It's amazing looking. It's also Greco-Roman, which is always cool. It should also be pretty damn violent. I like it!

3. His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass
Starring: Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig

I love the books, so this is automatic. I can't wait to see how they handle the animal companions and the polar bears. It's also got Nicole, which is great casting.

2. Stardust
Starring: Claire Danies, Michelle Pfieffer, Robert DeNiro

Again, I loved the book, and I've established a love of Neil Gaiman already. It's fantasy! Of course I'm gonna see it. Great cast too.

1. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.
Starring: Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom

Ok, this should be fairly obvious. This is why I love/hate cliffhangers.
