Long-ass updatedness
Hello. It has been many a day, and I should not even technically have the time to be writing this now. Yet here I am. I haven't really posted anything of my goings on since the 17th, so I'll start on the 18th and go from there, methinks.
18 - CinemaVault - I don't know how long I've known anymore, but people keep telling me there's talk of hiring me. I hear it from virtually everyone in the office except from who I need to hear it from to make it official. We shall see. Alex comes over and stays for several days.
19 - Alex continues
20 - Alex leaves :(.
21 - CinemaVault
22 - CinemaVault. Lunch with Vanessa at Toby's. Got an invitation to the WIFT party for TIFF.
23 - CinemaVault.
24 - CinemaVault - meet Michale for a short meal and a catch up.
25 - CinemaVault - Vanessa's last day before starting school again, so Laura, Jenn and I went with her to Toby's. Alex came over.
26 - More Alex.
28 - CinemaVault. Walkthrough of our space for Pitch Expo. Meeting.
29 - CinemaVault - went for lunch with Jenn, Laura and Lennina.
30 - CinemaVault - get to work and our building was on fire. We killed 2 hours outside. Timmy's with Lennina, and lunch with her, Ruby and Alisha.
31 - CinemaVault
Sept 1 - CinemaVault. Entire office went out for lunch.
2 - Sci Fi Con! Went in my Star Trek uniform. Made a friend on the bus to the train station - he was working at the con. He spent 2 days hitting on me....yeah...fun... Anywho, met Sid and Li at the Pickering station, and off we went to line. After much line, we finally got in. I met Bob Picardo (EMH, Voyager), Gates McFadden (Beverly Crusher, TNG - turns out, she's kind of a bitch; she wouldn't pose for pictures with her, she'd allow you to take them as she kept signing, she also wouldnt take off her shades either - she's also quite obviously had some plastic surgery - kind of disappointing, obviously there for the money and not for the fans), Jeffrey Combs (Weyoun, DS9), and Morena Baccarin (Inara Serra, Firefly - she looked far to skinny to be healthy). Also saw but didn't speak to Verne Troyer (who is even shorter than you'd think he'd be), Karen Black, Carrie Fisher, Linda Blair, and Alice Cooper in a bizarre scene where he was storming around with a ketchup and mustard bottle, looking really pissed with all of his "people" running after him (I don't know either). Went for lunch to East Side Marios with Sid, Li and Eric. Didn't buy too much, a sweet Battle Royale dvd set, an Eragon poster, and way too much Pocky to be healthy. Ran into Lisa in the bathroom, who then directed me to Aaron. We saw Jiggins too, and I realized it was the first time I'd ever heard him speak, and it was only "hi". The group I came with decided to eat at the Spagetti Factory for dinner, and we got lost and drenched in the rain, and didn't even end up eating there because the wait was too long - we went to some pub instead. Then home.
3 - Back to the con. Wore my pirate costume this time. Met up with bus friend again. Train in with Sid and Li. Met Chris, Eric, Noel and Landon at Union. Went and stood in line. Got in and went to my next line, for Shatner and Nimoy. Their I&I was fun and I enjoyed it muchly. More line for autographs. Got my Shatner autograph. Went back to the vendors, ran into Lianna and Karl. While standing in the lobby with Lianna, I spotted Scott Thompson, a Kids In The Hall member, standing about 5 feet away from me. I don't know why he was there. Now, if you know me, you know that I consider the Kids in the Hall to be my idols. Now, I was completely fine for Shatner, and everyone else I met. Instead of going to speak to him, I instead made a small squeaking noise and nearly fell on Lianna as he walked away. I'm so dumb. Hung out with Karl and Lianna most of the day, as well as Karl's friend Dave, and occasionally saw Lisa, Marin and Aaron. When it all finally ended, my group went back to Pickering and to the Mandarin for dinner, and then Li drove me back home to Oshawa.
