First Run

The orange femme worked frantically, trying to keep the dark green mech alive. "Hold on Crankshaft...They said they were sending a medic...just hold on a little longer..."

She winced as she felt the mech shudder. She didn't have the experience a medic would to keep the mech going in such a remote location, and with his injuries, sustained when the pair had tried to make a safe landing, and had been forced to go through the astroid field to avoid the Decepticons.

"Bluetooth...Don't worry about me...It's more important that you get to Perceptor..." The femme shook her head.

"I'm not leaving you." Suddenly, Crankshaft's optics widened as he saw something over Bluetooth's shoulder.

"S-Showtime?" Bluetooth looked over her shoulder, frowning when she didn't see anyone there. Suddenly, she could hear the voice of the femme she had helped raise.

/It's alright...You've done all you can for him...It's my turn to help now.../

Bluetooth gave Crankshaft's hand a gentle squeeze, her own scanners telling her just what the, she hesitated to call the presence a ghost, meant. She drew in air through her intakes, before gently setting Crankshaft's hand on his chestplate and turning away. In the distance, a siren could be heard, getting closer all the while.

The mech let out a confused noise, at least until Showtime offered him her hand. /What...?/ Showtime smiled, still holding her hand out.

/It's okay...You've done all you can.../ Crankshaft nodded, understanding, and reached for Showtime's hand. The blue femme pulled him up with ease, surprising the mech. He felt the pain from his injuries fade away, to be replaced by peace. He could hear a song coming from somewhere, but wasn't sure what was going on.

/When did you get so strong, little bit? And what am I hearing/ Showtime's reply was a gentle smile and a tilt of her head.

/That would be the AllSpark song.../Crankshaft nodded, not quite understanding, but feeling an almost overwhelming desire to join in. Showtime's smile was still gentle, her doorwings held at a content angle. /Are you ready to go?/

Crankshaft gave her a confused look. /Go where?/

/Home...there are others waiting for you as well.../ Crankshaft thought about everyone he knew who had passed on, before glancing back at the orange femme who had accompanied him. She had been joined by a vividly green mech, who was letting her sob and shake against his chestplate. With a silent goodbye, Crankshaft turned to Showtime and nodded.

/Let's go...I'd hate to keep Highspeed and Reroute waiting.../

Showtime nodded, /Just follow the song...It will guide you home./ Crankshaft nodded as he faded from sight, with Showtime following shortly after.
