I made sure to check and they do offer unlimited bandwidth on the standard hosting, as well as unlimited storage :D. The Meek is hosted on Dreamhost, so that's a good indicator of the kind of traffic they can handle.
Haha, I had so much trouble with ComicPress at the start, mostly just trying to get all that extra stuff in the default theme to disappear. Wow, good luck with your site -- building it from scratch sounds tough, but it'll definitely help set it apart :D
Er, with the assumption that if you've managed to have a local development setup for Wordpress/Comicpress, you might be savvy enough to manage a domain name registered outside of your host. And if you have some spare money, please consider registering a domain without relying on the host (unless they let you take/buy it after you leave).
But of course this is not such a big deal to everyone, so do what you feel is reasonable. :)
As far as I can tell, they let you keep the domain name if you migrate to another host. The monthly fee for Dreamhost is about the same as it would be for a domain name on its own, so going with them cuts the expenses in half.
Thanks for the advice though :D. It's always best to consider all the options before going with any one host.
