Maybe the trouble I had with your mix was that it seemed what you did was look for a song with the word Fringe in the title then linked to the first 8 versions of that song you could find. It didn't appear to be much work to me. The other entries I may have accepted in past challenges were at least something related to the challenge.
In the instance of this other person asking if the rules had to be firm they were asking if they could feature two characters in one mix that were not a ship. Not could they feature a song done 8 different ways about a surrey with tassels! In that instance I would have said no, as this song has very little too do with this tv show. If you ask for something feasible I might look at the rules depending on that question.
I am sorry, also, if I have come across as inconsistent with my rules. Running a land comm isn't easy and sometimes things come up that make you need to change the rules, like if I didn't think of a specific thing before the post went up. Land comms are not that old in general and not everyone is perfect! But I try my best! The other land comm I run no one else seems to complain about my rules or me changing them because something comes up or someone asks me something I didn't think about before, and we all still seem to have a good time.
If you want to treat me differently than everyone else, that's your decision. Like you said, it's your challenge. One would think you wouldn't have needed to explain what the word "deadline" meant, but you did - and still gave the person points. I'd think the fact I spend a ton of work on my other entries might give me a bit more leniency, not to mention I'm one of the biggest go-to people for my team. It's not like I take this comm as a joke. I put serious effort into my entries. And yet the one time I don't you deny it *and* bitch me out - and yet I never see anything towards other people who turn in stuff with obviously little work spent on it, or break other "rules". This entry was a humorous entry, sorry you didn't get that.
Like I said, I'm used to you making decisions on a whim. And just because no one is saying anything at your other landcomm, you shouldn't assume they aren't. When you show biases, trust me, people notice. Just don't expect me to stay silent about it. I know for a fact that other people have noticed here as well, and a few have even made comments at fringeverse about it. I seem to be the only one you're paying attention to though.
I don't want to treat you differently but you make it awfully difficult to treat you fairly when you push the rules like you do. The giving points for the late entry was not entirely my decision, I discussed it with Kim and we agreed to still give her the points she agreed with me that you shouldn't get points for this entry as well. I discuss a lot of things with her. This entry is not the only time you have pushed the rules, this was just the final straw. People have been offended and confused by the things you post. People see that you are a difficult member in the community and they have been talking to each other and talking to me and Kim in private messages about how they feel you bring the community down. They have asked me why we haven't told you to leave. Kim and I have tried to ignore that as well as your pushing the rules, since you are such a go to person for your team. But all that being said, if you don't like the way things are run here you are welcome to leave. Start your own landcomm and tell me how easy it is to try and please 100 people at the same time.
Please stop insulting my intelligence with your attempts to excuse your double standards - especially about "pushing the rules". You're not treating me fairly, period. I gave you at least 2 (actually 4) valid reasons to accept my entry. I already told you it's more than obvious you're treating me differently than everyone else. I only gave the deadline as one example. My friend was actually worried about entering something that didn't "conform" and I told her not to worry, she wasn't me.
You BTW have no idea who I am, or what I've done, so also please don't tell me I don't know how "hard" your job is when I do.
And to let you know, of the entries I have only done 3 anti-Fringe (ie "push the rules"): limericks (which people agreed with and didn't seem to upset a soul); promo (which you and kimmy went out of your way to tell me you were more than happy to bend your own rules about); and the Olivia picspam (which was a challenge akin to going to a Lost comm and telling them Jack is the absolute BAMF and everyone must do a picspam celebrating him).
I am also not the first person to complain. I think maybe 1 or 2 I have been the first commentor on an issue, and those were suggestions (like adding Newton to the last line game). If you check your threads, you'll find I only commented after at least one initial request - and most likely a second as well. For instance, I was actually the third person to comment about the Team Wins! tags. So considering those two facts, plus the negative comments I've seen about the comm, and lack of participation in general, I find it tough to believe *I'm* the one bringing it down.
As to the rest? It's not worth commenting on. And I think this conversation has run its course. I won't be responding again. Thank you.
