Vampire Academy Report Card
Wow, guys. Thanks so much for the amazing response to the Shadow Kiss excerpt. I can't believe how many hits that got! Your comments were wonderful. A few questions kept popping up in the comments, so I'll answer the three most common.
1. The release date is November 13.
2. Sadly, I don't know the release dates for other countries. While a number of countries have bought rights to the VA series, you won't actually see those versions out for, oh, at least a year probably. That means you'll just have to wait for American copies to trickle over, and I have no control over that--it depends on the bookstores. I can say this for Australian fans: Rendezvous Books in Melbourne imports American copies of my stuff, so you can buy it there or by mail (and pay local shipping).
3. No, I can't move up the release date. :) Sorry!
In other news, thanks to dervampirtony for reminding me that Vampire Academy is a nominee for the Young Adult Library Association's Top Ten List. I'd heard this awhile back but didn't realize voting was coming to an end this Saturday. So, if you want to vote for VA (or another favorite book), you can do that here. For the sake of fairness, though, you should be a teen, and only vote once!
Finally, mega-congrats to my girl Kat Richardson. Her werewolf Christmas anthology, Wolfsbane and Mistletoe, made the New York Times list this week. Stories by other hot authors--like Patricia Briggs, Keri Arthur, Charlaine Harris, and Carrie Vaughn--are also in it. Go Kat!
