(no subject)
I am rather tired of my notes being deleted inexplicably each and every time I try to write one, but I refuse to give up this time.
I felt like writing something because my 'practicing' wasn't going well and instead of throwing my trumpet out of my window (which would have been bad) I thought I would concentrate my efforts on something alternatively constructive instead. And so here I am.
We went camping the other day... and by the other day I really mean only a day. Sad, but true. Usually we camp for a week at a time, but since my bro wasn't granted his time off, we had to leave later than we would have, and due to the rain, we got to slink home with our tails between our legs. Saturday morning was the absolute nicest weather I have ever had for camping: cool, breezy, and overcast. The family went for a hike to see some of the larger sand dunes along the lake (we stay at Point Beach every year, which is on Lake Michigan) and walked back on the beach, but as soon as we got back to the camp sites it started drizzling and it wasn't long before it started pouring. We tried playing seven-handed hearts but that got old rather quickly. In the evening we went into town where there was a large shelter where we could roast hot dogs and be dry.
So, we came back home Saturday evening, which was nice because we got to sleep in our own beds. Today I worked on this floor rug I am trying to make for the dorm room this year. Made major headway on it today but because I am one hell of a slow crocheter, this is not saying much. Yes, I crochet. Add that to my 'JoAnne is a Nerd' list. Speaking of which, my accordion straps, that I just fixed, keep falling apart. Here I thought I did a pretty awesome repair job, rivetting the leather back together and such, but the rivets keep coming loose.
And now I am done.
