Over a year

It's been over year since I've updated my blog. I have tried to write on other sites and I just don't like them. I always come back to LiveJournal. Here it goes...

So many changes are happening in our life. I'm excited to just say that: "our life." Josh and I have been married for almost 9 months. We still find out new things about each other daily. Good and bad. Heavy and light. But that's life, marriage, and love.

The Lord is leading us in a mighty way. We both have grown up on the northeast side of Houston. We have been confined to our Huffman/Atascocita/Humble/Porter lifestyle before I can remember. So it was fitting for us to live comfortably in our apartment in Porter for the past nine months in the same place. Josh has been with HAFBC for three years now. He was promised a full-time job with insurance and benefits... it's been over a year since that empty promise has been made. He has put in an unsurmountable amount of work with little to no recognition. He sees it differently though, but I can't get over how he's been treated. After several months of frustration and getting hours cut, Josh applied for a position at Brazos Pointe Fellowship in Lake Jackson pretty much on a whim. His exact words were, "I applied for another job today. It's in Lake Jackson." My response, "Cool." After looking for another job for the past year or so, we received a true blessing. After reviewing all of their applicants, Josh was the only person they interviewed. He was then offered the job. It's more money than we know what to do with with health and dental insurance, as well as a retirement plan that is out of this world. His official title is "Technical Arts Director." With that, we are packing up this Spring Break week and moving to LJ.

This church is the healthiest church I've ever been apart of. Last Sunday was "Servolution." Every member of the church meets on Sunday morning, groups are made, and service projects are assigned. The entire church goes out into the community and serves. THIS IS WHAT CHURCH SHOULD BE. That's only the beginning. There is only 7 people on staff, including Josh, the rest of the team are volunteers. They generously volunteer their time, talent, and efforts to serve the Lord. We have never felt so much welcomeness into any church in our entire lives. They have gone above and beyond to help us in our move. Not only are they helping us move next Saturday, but they have found us a place to stay until our lease is up in Porter. FOR FREE.

I always thought that we would live close to our parents, but it is time for us to grow up, become independent, and rely on each other. This is what a marriage is all about. The two shall become one. Cleave to one another. Thank you Lord for all the blessings you have bestowed upon us.

jesus, moving, church, blessed
