Season 2, Episode 6. Training

Feb 20, 2010 15:08

Rangers, once the weather gets warmer, we need to get out and start working out more. I'm going to be training myself to get even better and stronger, and I think we could all benefit from being in shape and becoming better fighters. We ARE the Power Rangers, after all; even if none of you are on the Guard or the Watch, it never hurts to be able to ( Read more... )

Yeah. Bridge, Ghost, Pinky and I were all part of a team called the Power Rangers back home.

The Power Rangers. [The way he writes it, "the" and "power" don't have much space between them - he's definitely pinged.]

Do you know what you did?

As far as we can piece together from what we've found out, we were all police officers.

Lawmen? Huh.

I thought I had something there - 'thepower rangers' seems like something I should know - but it's gone. Sorry, Sky.

That's a shame. I hope you can find out why it seems familiar to you.

Thanks.

[And since it's highly unlikely to ever come up - one of his pilots was an Antarian Ranger from Toprawa, hence a residual memory mixup into "Toprawa Rangers"]

They don't seem to want to train with you.

[Wow, that's really interesting. XD And a creative ping, well done.]

I'm sure they'll come around in time. And, well- I can't make them do anything, and they're still my friends either way.

[I'd app his ranger-pilot, she's a fascinating mess of issues and strength and genre-savvy, but she was in one of his squadrons, so probably too close.]

I'd advise starting slow - don't push a regimen on them, do something like invite them along on a run. Low-key. Unless they're dedicated desk pilots workers, they're probably not completely out of shape.

[Unfortunately, probably, yeah. :(]

You're right. I probably came on too strongly...

[They've had just enough meaningful interaction to be too much, plus X-Wing pilots should naturally gravitate towards each other... oh well. If I ever tire of Rogue and decide not to bring him back as Vader, maybe.]

If they don't feel like you have rank on them, and they've been setting their own schedules, you'll have some trouble shaping them up quickly. Good luck.

[I hope you don't get tired of Rogue, I like him!]

Yeah. I think we were all equals, more or less. We've felt like friends more than comrades-in-arms the whole time we've been here, too.

[Aw, thanks! It's bound to take a while, anyway.]

It's possible to be both comrades and friends. Having one individual outrank and command the others can stress that, of course, but they're hardly mutually exclusive relationships.

True. I don't want to push them, though; none of them seem thrilled about the idea, so I'll leave them be for now.
